Android and iOS are only as secure as the users using them.
Ppl are running Android phones from 7 years back just fine.
Atleast on Android, you can take security in your own hands while iOS pretty much is like a prison system.
Unless a group of hackers personally attack you through the loophole that is not fixed with a security update (if such a loophole exists), you are safe.

For many of us iPhone is not an option because we are not too invested to Apple ecosystem so the only choice is to buy a phone from a trusted brands like Sony, Nokia or Google.
And who said you need pay premium price to get Android Enterprise recomended devices? I can buy entry level or mid range phones from Nokia or Sony that can provide security for 2 or 3 years before replacing it with a new phone and it's still cheaper than buying an iPhone because with the same money as the price of a new iPhone I can buy 2-3 generation of mid range phones with 6-9 years of security and support.

For ... moreIt weighs 55g more, has no waterproof certification, no MicroSD port, the stereo from the headphone jack is not equal and the pictures are very detailed but don't try to make a burst, it won't follow. I'm also not sure it will upgrade to Android 11. Everyone has their own reasons...

At least iphones are more reliable in ... moreSecurity updates will be delivered directly via Google Play from Android 11, so this smartphone will be tracked throughout its life. Unlike Apple, Android apps don't depend on the OS version and are constantly updated, in other words there won't be any more security issues but no new features on Android itself, and frankly it doesn't matter, it's already perfectly usable and real changes are becoming more and more rare. Here the Xperia 10 II will be sold at 369 euros for the 128GB version with Gorilla 6 & IP68 protection, which is very competitive and a sustainable investment. I think it will be a success. I fully understand the reasons for Apple's success, but the prices are not the same.

Nothing impressive. And less at the price they'll ask. For a mid ranger I prefer the Mi Note 10 all the way.

But, Sony are limited by Android. So, in 2, maximum 3 years (if you are really lucky), is bye bye phone.
So, pay premium price, to change it once per 2 years? No thanks.

LG Superfan, 24 Feb 2020I expect the price to be $350-400 abit over priced If it will cost 400 euro, I feel really bad for Sony. In that price point you can get a Pixel 3a/3a XL or with some luck even a One Plus 7.
But, I think it will be around 300 euro, for Sony sake.
