Not saying that iPhones are the best, because I've tested several Xiaomi phones like the K20 and Mi Note 10 and they're pretty good. But do talk with some common sense. Seems like you're from the lower-class economy.

Anonymous, 03 Mar 2020Xiaomi is so overhyped nowdays, remembers me of Huawei in t... moreXiaomi is not overhyped, look at what happened to S20 Ultra. Much-waited then spoilt so GsmArena gave better ratings to iPhone 11 Pro Max and Huawei P30 Pro (even an older Mi 9).
Tested Mi Note 10 Pro. System and app performance is rather good. It may be ridden with ads, but several competitors also have this. It depends on your region, though. Camera quality is impressive in bright conditions. I don't see any evidence it's overhyped when the phone is pretty satisfying given the price (it's cheap in India and parts of SE Asia).
So who says Xiaomi is overhyped? Absolutely not true. They stepped the game up since the Mi 9 and embarassing iPhone copy with Mi 8 and A2.

[deleted post]India economy is mainly controlled by a few elite, thus income of average India workers probably need an entire annual income to own a iPhone, so is pointless to mentioned India economy is stronger, you should mentioned Ambani, Mittal, Hinduja family is stronger but not the rest of normal people.

Anonymous, 03 Mar 2020For a moment think about the other side of the coin, about ... moreOnce I had a discussion with someone from India, people in the west mostly buy an expensive iPhone or Samsung because of it's ecosystem (more so in case of iPhone) and because getting such phones in the west vs income is easier, the whole status thing barely exists here (unless you count some under aged kids that have a €1000+ iPhone because their parents are rich, I don't count these people)
Back to that guy, he said having expensive phone like iPhone in India is purely for the status of being able to have one, it shows of "you have money" and people with a huge ego love it.

For a moment think about the other side of the coin, about how badly the Indian governments throughout the history of this country have managed the taxation laws.
India is right up there as one of the highest taxed (consumer taxes) countries in the world. That coupled with zero actual consumer rights framework makes it one of the worst countries in the world to purchase electronics, like this phone, which are consider "ultra luxury goods" and not considered something as a mere communication device...like you know, what a phone is supposed to be?
The country's coffers leak like a sieve, they have been doing so since 1947 and they will continue into the future because of the endemic sickness in the form of institutionalized corruption in this country. Indians better get used to foot the government's tab to offset this leakage with more taxes heaped on their "luxury" purchases.

Do a person who is ready to spend INR 40K+ on this toy, really care about 2K hike in price?
Now surely, if launched in India, price of iPhone 9/SE will start from INR 49,900 for the base model.
