The Unisoc T7520 is the first chipset built on 6nm EUV, has an integrated 5G modem

04 March 2020
The chipset is fabbed by TSMC and features four Cortex-A76 cores, a more powerful NPU and an ISP that supports 100MP image sensors.

Sounds like a good chip. More competition in the SOC space the better.

Technology will improve and I will support that, even if is 5% improvement compared to previously generation. Apple always present phones like 40-50% faster, but in reality that is 5%. (But they can do that cause are not Chinese company).

Nice surprise from Unusoc. Graphic is not mid-range,it's very powerful, which can support 4k resolution and 120hz refresh rate. Also soc will be very cheap, compared to snapdragon.

Legendary SoC on 2012 cheap SAMSUNG phones

Hopefully this utilizes some of Arm's DynamIQ technology to have much better processing along with great energy savings. There is a constantly need to have more players so that complacency doesn't set in. Also, with Modern Image Sensors and Computational Photography, there is never enough processing power, and constant improvements are always welcome.

It sounds like you would say 4G was a gimmick in early 2010. It's future-proof. Sure you wouldn't like to use a 4G only phone when 5G becoming a mainstream, right? Same as what you said in the latter, bigger RAM, more camera (depends on its function) doesn't always mean a gimmick. Stop whining.

Will be interesting to see what devices will implement this and what is the real life power. of this soc

It's fast enough to do everything they need on it. 5G is just gimmic and nothing more. Like the more cameras and more RAM on phones is just a selling point the more is better and bigger numbers make it better and never mind that you probably only use 5% your phone is capable

Well that sure caught me by surprise. Specs look nice. If that thing can put 5G phones inside normal people's pocket, with reasonable prices and realistic expectations, i'm all for it. Even though i hate Unisoc because they probably won't issue updates. But I guess time will tell.

Seems like a very decent chipset competing against Dimensity 800 and Exynos 980, with support for mmWave which is expensive to make. 5G war is increasingly more competitive.

its interesting to see if it will be implemented in midrange or flagship devices but its interesting nontheless.

This is exactly what we need... We need more SoC's. More competitive companies. More choice.

This is great. A 6nm midrange chipset. Certainly an impressive feat.

I think this company is aiming high... Some flagship powerhouses on the way...
