LG has no future plans for Windows Phone? I didn't know they even had present plans for Windows Phone. When was the last time they released one? I don't think they'll be missed. When has an LG phone ever excited anyone recently? The last LG article on this site had what? Maybe 15 comments.

AnonD-12210, 01 May 2012but still this ancient cart is better than modern supercar ... morei use symbian since the nokia 7650, 3650, 6600, n70.... n8, e7.... and now have android tablet.
i must say that it is true that nokia symbian is great. 600MHz Arm 11 CPU is smoother in symbian than in android.
***BUT*** Arm 11 is like intel 486, it's ancient, replaced with Arm cortex a8, then dual core arm cortex a9, quad core arm cortex a9.... If you want the best device possible why buy symbian with old processor??
The era of symbian has gone. nokia won't update symbian to support new CPU, because all the engineer have left the building (FIRED by trojan horse MICROSOFT ELOP).
and what about WP7... epic failure
first.... too many minuses compared to android
second.... it won't get any WP8
third.... with WP7 only sold less than 5 million unit, i bet software developer in the future won't develop for WP7 anymore, and will directly to WP8, in which all WP7 owner now will be left in cold
forth.... Metro UI, although unique doesn't sell. it's like when you to buy something, some one force you to try something new, you try it, fell great, but won't buy it, because it's not what you want.
so...
i think LG were smart dumping WP7
and I hope HTC & Samsung & all other WP7 manufacture dump Microsoft, and let Nokia die alone

Anonymous, 30 Apr 2012why is Lumia 610 is better phone than the ACE?
****ALL****... moreseriously then why iphone is selling very well in china, braZil ,russia and all and people buys in india despite being of much high price in india,
Also people dont use linux in developing nations, they will have atleast pirated copy of windows ,all those who can afford a phone over 10k will defenitely have a pc at home.
Nokia is not a fool to stick with windows phone ,they are bringing in meltemi a linux based os which is based on meego to compete with cheap android phones.
While windows phone caters need of developed nation.
Meltemi + qt can create an eco system which caters 3rd world nations.

This is really wrong. Small amount of code changes to port from WP8 to Windows 8, because Windows 8 basically contains WP8 emulator. Windows 8 apps will not be easy to port unless they were coded for WP7/WP8 initially.
Just because Windows 8 and WP8 use the same kernel doesn't mean anything when it comes to porting apps.

This is bad idea for LG. They aren't making money in Android anyways, because their softwares suck. I am sure they will be making handsets for Windows Phone 8. Two biggest carriers (AT&T and Verizon) in the US already pledged to support Windows Phone. You also have Microsoft and Nokia fully backing Windows Phone. Windows Phone 8 will be based on Windows 8 and little codes needed to port apps from Windows 8 to WP8. WP8 could be perfect for LG since Microsoft handles the software side.
