Anonymous, 06 Mar 2020careful what u wish, when huawei dominated the phone market... moreI already hate data theft which is exactly why I want the constantly exposed front camera gone, either through pop up or secondary rear display.
Also considering that they use ANDROID, Google is the one responsible to make sure such thing can't actually happen, but they actually WANT data to leak, so they aren't gonna do anything against it.
As a programmer I'll tell you a little secret, most peoples think that nothing can be 100% secure, but that's actually false, it is totally faisable, even easy to make a system that can't be hack, but it obviously require that you actually want that in the first place, you can easily tell appart hardware and network activities, you first need to make sure that only hardware activities are allowed to access certain level of things, that deal with distant attack, then you make sure that each app/software can only do so much and use autorisation (not the Android ones which actually doesn't really work, REAL ones) that limit each programs to a certain number of things, each group of things being on a level of critical access and those requiring a single access in the group a level more secured than what they are already consented to use, could simply use exception permission which have for goal to allow them to ONLY access one item at a certain level.
But now, doing that AND having backdoor is more tricky or almost impossible, it is like going from a funnel to a strainer...
Now, guess why Android isn't 100 secured.
So if there is data theft this is actually 100% Google fault, because they allow it to be possible because they themselves use it and potentially get paid/bonus by allowing other to do so, including the US government.

And so was Skype, yet peoples aren't talking about Microsoft or the USA as a danger, my point is, why would swapping from already existing USA data theft to China data theft make me regret it ? IMO China may be the lesser evil about that.
Because peoples tend to act as if Western tech company don't actually do that, I can't even count the number of time I was talking something with my GF and then she get an ad about that on Facebook (note that I don't have any real/active facebook account), and well what peoples actually forgot is that Google, the owner of Android, is known to be one of the biggest data theft ever, only facebook actually top them.

So yeah, based on what the USA do with our data and what China do comparatively, I'd be more kind to lets China have mine, also China have a smaller impact on our everyday life than USA who are actually the one that treat European country to not use Huawei while they are the one who do the same, and did it first.
That being said, I'd actually prefer that none of the two were having any access to my data I don't knowingly consent to share.

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2020If western do not anything interesting, why some many chine... moreIn term of design and OS design, yeah Chinese clearly copy Apple, they aren't the same, the almost totality of the phone market do, but yeah they clearly do without hesitations.

And for the notch I am the first one who think it is stupid, not that I think the notch is stupid, I think it is stupid on Android, but totally brilliant on iPhones, because the iPhone literally have a really limited amount of stuff they show on the "notification/statut" bar equivalent on top of the display and they have tons of sensors which need to be there, so they simply leave enough space on the side for those statut icons while also mixing sensors there, meaning when something is in fullscreen, the icons are actually where the bezel originally was and the content can get as far up as the notch itself as you can see in this image :
      https://i.ytimg.com/vi/e1zxlilnK0c/maxresdefault.jpg
But on Android where the whole top section is used for notifications, mostly now that there is constantly more apps which use notifications, having a notch up there is completely stupid.

But when it come to put new features on a phone, like 3D face unlock on Android, underdisplay fingerprint reader, pop up camera, fullscreen and other things like that, Chinese smartphones actually dominate the Western smartphone industry by a huge margin.

They would never put ugly notch if iphone did not have one.

MiUI, ColorOS and FuntouchOS do reminds of iOS.

BTW James Bond is British and there isn't many big smartphone brand located in the UK are they ?
Qnd well lets say that most US based Smartphone DO send data to the USA anyway, even just having an Android smartphone is basically offering personal data to the USA, and honestly I am more comfortable with China getting my data than USA, China do bad thing to its own peoples, but the USA do bad thing to the whole world.
So even if it was a Chinese phone, would it really be SO BAD ?
Also, I am more inclined to believe that Huawei did not send any data whatsoever to the Chinese government but the USA, as always, lied to take down a huge competition and avoid loosing the head of a huge market that allow them to be the one who gather data.
