Wait, is the 720G supposed to be better than the SoC on the Note 8 Pro?

AnonD-844967, 09 Mar 2020Micro led which is technically a lcd is beyond comparison w... moreI prefer OLED because it is better for my eyes when I'm using it in evenings and nights. LCD is just still grayish black instead of true black. But I have to say, high quality LCD is way better than cheap OLED.

Never experienced burn in issues, but I use my devices at a very low brightness. My OLED tablet is till going strong after more than 3 yearsnwith only the blue pixels being a little bit damaged (screen is a little bit yellow but narely noticeable

Still Samsung wins with it's super amoled at the same price rather than that Xiaomi's cheap blue coloured lcd harming eyes at minimal usage time.

Anonymous, 09 Mar 2020Hope so. This a soc more weak than note 8 pro.But power efficient, good cpu and gpu, like realme 6 pro.

This misunderstanding puts a smile on my face as it validates to me people will be so shocked when they see how LCD will become especially their understanding of micro led

But SoC is most probably is 720G Atleast for indian version.coz new Xiaomi phones are roumored to come with Indian NavIC Navigation system.720G is almost on par with 730G & support NavIC also.so 720G is most obvious.

Mini LEDs are advanced backlight tech for LCD that can illuminate only some area that needs to be illuminated, so LCD have better contrast just OLED and maybe have deep black
While microLED is just like Syntethic LED display without organic thing

Anonymous, 09 Mar 2020Why are device manufacturers going for these more and more ... moreBecause with those useless screen ratios they can still say that "fit in one hand".

Micro led is neither like OLED or LCD

Only it's IMPLEMENTATION will determine what it's like

                        They are just bulbs

Manufacturers CAN use it as a backlight and they WILL do that for first generation Microled because they've invested too much in LCD plus LCD tech is cheaper and more feasible

OR they can go full emissive per pixel which is too expensive currently

It's much more similar to OLED. There is no backlight, no liquid crystal light modulator, no color filter. Just light emitting diodes just like OLED.

Why are device manufacturers going for these more and more black bar screens? Can't we just use something closer to 16:9? Maybe 18:9 or even 17:9(120-160px for the navigation menu).

It's worse than the predecessor in every way.
