you guys do realize that Sony Xperia P is running at a higher resolution?

additional how can u compare 3 devices all of which are running at very different CPU frequencies?
Xperia P ---> 1.0 Ghz
Galaxy S2 ---> 1.2 Ghz
Galaxy Note ---> 1.4 Ghz

Who cares about performance? Phones today have more than enough performance - a 1GHz single core is good enough.
What matters power is POWER CONSUMPTION and BATTERY LIFE. The NovaThor is meant to be a very power-efficient chip; unfortunately Sony gimped the Xperia P with a small battery.
We shall have to wait and see the effect of the NovaThor SoC and WhiteMagic display in the full Xperia P review...

from what i know samsungs exynos has modified instruction set and that's why cpu is sometimes faster (sammy hired some special company to do that), and whole soc is superb designed

The mistake Sony has made is ditching the SE Arc
styling. If they used the same body & put in a dual/quad
core....

Gsmarena shouldn't blindly blame sony for gpu driver issues..., the actual reason for lessor gpu performance is the single core MALI400 gpu in this st-ericsson processor as opposed to dual core in exynos

Go Sony!, 02 May 2012This will be a performance to price ratio battle. Sony taki... moreI don't think it is all about performance to price. Many people want performance in a phone that is not too big. This phone is a great option for power in a smaller than flagship device.
That is what I am after :)
To put it in perspective this phone is roughly the same size as an HTC One V. The One V has a smaller and lower pixel display with only a single core processor. Compare it with Samsung's best small devices the Galaxcy Ace 2 and Galaxcy S Advance and the Xperia P still comes out on top.
For power in a small size the Xperia P and Sola both look pretty good.
The Panasonic Eluga is probably the other device packing a lot into a smaller size. Both the Xperia P and Eluga may live and die on their battery tests though.

This will be a performance to price ratio battle. Sony taking baby steps. I just hope you'll destroy them with a surprise atomic device that will completely obliterate the competition and leave them with mouths hanging wide open in disbelief. DO. IT. SONY. MOBILE. NOW!
