A gaming phone without USB-C to HDMI support is a joke, wireless display is pointless for gaming, it will always have more latency than direct wired USB-C to HDMI but needs USB 3 support, please check if it finally supports it @gsmarena, thank you :)

My point was throwing that reality back as a response to that person claiming any device like this or Android period was terrible for only getting 2 years of updates. Pointless actually considering the nature of current mobile games. Only a handful of games will, A. support 144Hz refresh rate, B. Competitive with the need of low-latency screen, C. Graphically intensive (stresses CPU and GPU), D. Not a cash cow where microtransactions are very demanded.

Is it just PUBG & COD Mobile and Fortnite to play? RR3 is a prehistoric game, even phones as weak as a Samsung J3 or Redmi 4A can run the game already. Mobile Legends, AoV, and FF Battlegrounds are not hardware-intensive games.

Going to the phone itself, ZTE is severely lacking in service and aftersales support. Software update is meh. JerryRigEverthing has questioned the reliability of the fan (can get jammed or catch dust, especially it has no ingress protection). Translation of OS is also, meh.

What's the point of using a gaming phone anyway? To show-off that you have powerful hardware that you can barely exploit? People will consider that S20, P40, or iPhone 11 Pro instead.

I don't want to be slaved by gaming developers by spending lots of money in their games. $100 for microtransactions is a no-go for me. And a handful of games that require its use means that unless you're a streamer, you'll be bored by what mobile games can offer.

Flgshp2020, 11 Mar 2020Can't believe ppl who are unable to differentiate between 6... moreLike the person said it's only between 90hz and 120/144hz not 60hz and 120/144hz.

Blind test like the ones Linus tech tips and Jayz2cents done will show that you can barely tell the difference - depends on the person obviously.

[Edit] Just expanded their comment... 90/120/144 arent a gimmick. much smoother than 60 but the difference between themselves are minuscule.
For me, Idc as it's just aesthetics.

Global rom going suck again because they dont push android 10 on launch.

                      - and who's at fault here?

The consumer, who wants a good ( proper device ) with support ( after-care just like when a baby is born ) or the money hungry rare-earth depleting OEM's who don't give a flying f*ck about human life and are incompetent to actually hire loads more of people to actually grab real world problems by the neck in return gaining tons of trust and respect, let alone an overflow of cash pouring in which they so greatly want because of the aforementioned trust and respect?

It's really simple yet you don't get it. If you have trust in someone or something, you'll give them money or share anything because you trust them and when someone pays a lot for something and it's degraded in a short time then what different outcome did you expect to see other than people being against those very shortcomings they didn't expect?

Vegetaholic, 11 Mar 2020Lol, another idiotic marketing BS. 90 vs 144hz video posted... moreLOL That's rich! In reality 90hz is really a gimmick and the difference between 60hz and 90hz is way smaller than between 90hz ans 120+hz. the difference is immense and every single person I've shown the ROG 2 phone confirmed it. And it's not just about games - all animation transitions in the homescreen and the menus, scrolling in the browser and documents, everything you do on the phone looks better. If you have a gaming laptop or just monitor with high refresh rate and judge by that - don't, because windows' animations and scrolling with a mouse are not representative of how a touchscreen device with the same refresh rate looks

And on the flip side imagine instead you get updates for 4 or 5 years. But there was a point where that software held a world dramatic world lead in app crashes for at least 5 years.
And imagine every time a new software release came out it was like the company didn't give a crap about you. As if every time it was a last second rushed beta that plagued devices with crashes and bugs. Even though it was supposedly a tested and ready to go official update. And after you tried it you realize that they lock it so you can't revert back to prior stable software.
Instead you have to wait weeks or months now for multiple updates one after another after another and hope that one of those is finally the good one.

Not to mention you bought into the lies that reason it was ok to pay more for less storage, smaller ram, and weaker battery was because this software was so much more supremely optimized so it didn't need that.... But then the software keeps coming buggy. And when it finally gets more stable eats up the low storage and ram over time and despite being "optimized and needing less" bogs down the CPU, ram, and storage. And now you're already much smaller than average battery is starting to heavily degrade.

And to top it all off after it's very final update 5ish years later.... It's still not as advanced in a number of features and functions as that other phone was day one out of box.....
But hey. You got that logo and you got updates longer.

It really just makes me scratch my head when readers here thinks they know what the future holds on these devices compared to the tech world.

Just because you readers here don't care or feel like that there's a need for high-refresh rate displays on a smartphone, you've overlooked that these smartphone's manufacturers stay in communication with the industry's game devs/pubs very often, an they have a future outlook to what's coming, and you people do not.
