Can't be long before C hina starts making the equipment to make chips to rid itself of dependence of the US for that.

FapPhone, 12 Mar 2020It's because you've never touched or tried phones with the ... moreExactly it's only the last two exynos that fell behind. And while they fell behind they definitely still performed like flagship chips. Just not the best obviously.
So leading for 8 out of 11 is not bad at all. And that only being behind for numbers 9 and 10, and on par with number 11 they are ok.
And it was 2 obvious main reasons why those two fell behind. And if you don't know the main reason out of those two about the transition up new custom ground up large cores then you don't know much about the chips or stories to comment on them...

There's talk that even Intel, which had traditionally relied on its own chip-fabs (because they frankly 'were' ultimate leaders in the space and enjoyed unimpeded Monopoly), is considering TSMC's 6 nm and the next 3nm process for future Xe/DG Graphics cards.
All in all, good going TSMC. Nice job.

AnonD-732843, 12 Mar 2020Many OEM's deserve the shame tag be attached to them though... moreIt's because you've never touched or tried phones with the respective chipsets. And not to mention Crappynos throttles too easily under load and has weak image processing (for camera shots). Kirin has improved a lot in Huawei P30. Apple stepped up the game in iPhone XR/XS lineup with its A12 chipset. Snapdragon has been better with SD835. Samsung used to lead the pack years ago until Exynos 8995 in the S8. Nowadays Exynos is rubbish. Exynos 9810 was a huge dissapointment. 9820 improved, but still not there yet.

Crapple isn't perfect, Shamedragon isn't perfect, Kirin and Exynos aren't perfect either though all excel in some particular field(s) and the key would be to gather their strong points and combine them into 1 for the ultimate cutting-edge solution resulting in them all feeling the need to properly innovate because of actual shame.

Not a single mention of how yields improved and how much of a reduction in wasted ( defective ) product is manufactured which by the way is non-reusable from an environmental and sustainability standpoint..

Its nice to know that technology is advanced everyday forr better performance and minimise power consumption, but in case for mobile devices need a better technology to be built...because the screens of this devices still old kind of tech ideology that consume lot of battery power whenever this devices are turned on.

I wonder how far we can push transistor sizes - soon we literally have transistors the size of an atom.
