Anonymous, 12 Mar 2020Center punch hole is more obtrusive than left punch hole...... moreYou're right. Left punchole is better as it is not that obstructive but speaking about aesthetic center punch hole looks better even if it is obstructive..

I want a compact variant of this phone but that's just my opinion.
            Height not more than 147mm
            Display: 5.8inch FHD+
Camera: according to the size as many lenses are possible but ultrawide should be a must.
So the size is small then the battery will be small, 3500 mah will be fine.
Everything else should be the same.

CompactPhones5ever, 13 Mar 2020100% agree. I understand that some people prefer the bigger... moreYes, that will be good if they make Note 9 mini, lite or some other name, but with similar processor, just a smaller screen, and dimension of the phone. And about battrery size, i remember Redmi 3s, phone made from alu, 5" screen in 16:9 aspect ratio (compact by today standards), and thickness is i think 8.5mm with 4000mah inside, so i think if they make Note 9 mini, lite, compact.. 4000mah will be enough with max 8.5mm thickness. Anyway, there si alwasy phones like S20, even like you said, Apple, SE2 (iPhone 9), will be also compact (but i think it will be with old 16:9 aspect ratio), so we have choice anyway. But those, Xiaomi, Redmi phones are (most of them) really good, for the price, so it is a shame why they don't made normal sized (like S20, Apple 11, Pro, A40, S10e...) Phone.

Stupid for them.. Bigger battery always need bigger or thicker body.

Anonymous, 12 Mar 2020Price down and screen size up (also dimension of the phone)... more100% agree. I understand that some people prefer the bigger displays, but I have no clue why they don't make some 'mini' version from time to time. I'm actually thinking of moving to Apple once the SE2 comes out because there's virtually no compact midrange android phone these days. Most of them are either ultra low range (like Redmi Go) or the flagships (Galaxy S10e or Pixel 4).

If Redmi decided to make Redmi Note 9 Mini, with exact same specs and price except 5.2" or 5.5" screen, I'm sure it would sell like hot cakes.

Qwerty2020, 12 Mar 2020LED is a semiconductor light source that emits light when c... moreNo, the LED TERM in display is based on LCD, the LED term they use in display often refer to the backlight of the display instead of the panel itself. The panel is still liquid crystal (LCD). If you are talking about LED LIGHY by itself, then you are correct, it is not LCD.

Manufacturer put LED display, but in fact it is just a LCD with LED backlight instead of the older CFL. OLED and QLED is another totally different thing from LED term that is used in display, and those are base on LED LIGHTS that you mention.

I think those phones from China (Huawei, Xiaomi, RealMe..) are geting to big, for some reason. Even Samsung in S and A series have compact phones today, so, whats a problem for those Chinese OEMs to make smaller phone factor, in 20:9 aspect ratio? Or at least from 20 phones, to make 4 compact, and the rest (like those two) gigant brick with IPS screen.
