And it used to rival the Apple iPod and Microsoft Zune and Sony Walkman back in the days.. So I would say the brand is reputable even though it is less known.. I myself bought Meizu M6 Note for my mom and Meizu M8 for my wife and they both worked great to this day

The uniform bezels and idea for the battery indicator is pretty neat. From the looks of the leak, the phone is about the size of my Nokia 7 plus. 6.5" inch for screen size looks about right.

The one supposedly photographed in the wild shows uniform bezel thickness (none are super slim, but not thick either; I personally thought it looked awesome).
This render shows a slightly thicker bezel than the rest of the phone, and if render is as such, I would imagine the real phone is only worse :(
I am (was?) hoping for a true competitor to iphone's bottom bezels without the unsightly major notch.

Meizu makes the best-looking phones according to me. It's a shame we don't get them in our country. And I'm kinda sceptical going to a not-so-common Korean brand.

These bezels look amazing. Combined with a pop up (or possibly an under display camera) will make it the perfect looking screen.

This is really smart. But most phone makers tend to put the punch-hole on the left side (or middle) so it's definately not an universal solution

I will never buy a Meizu phone again. I bought Meizu 16th and it was OK.
But No root access and poor software update support for new versions of android. Fingerprint reader also unreliable. I returned the phone and bought a Xiaomi phone. Same price. Same features but root access + android update support & more reliable. Don't waste your money on Meizu.

Meizu needs to get its software-support house in order.
Their hardware had always been decent,with nice designs too.
With a good bit of updates, and a bit of marketing also, they could have a shot at breaking Xiaomi/BBK Monopoly.

The innovation in camera have stopped. Companies are just placing it everywhere not even thinking properly.. just thinking of making smaller bezels and bigger camera megapixels.
I for one prefer if the notch /bezels remains. Improve the front camera components, not just a huge megapixel camera.. but multiple improved sensors. Like FLIR sensors. So you can measure the temperature to check if you have fever via the selfie camera. Check anyone around you have fever in this time of crisis.
Apple's notch faceid is very close to FLIR, but their front infrared camera is not sensitive enough to detect temperature. Other companies could have taken this loop hole.. and make this feature.. and make software to take your temperature daily and monitor your health!
STOP silly punch holes, bezelless screen.. all give meaningless value and only make it harder to hold. Now there is a lack of thermometer.. this will sell like hotcakes.

Where all the hype that saying this company is the only one left that didnt do punch hole phones? And when they do punch hole then all people ignore that and make it look like its a good thing now? While when other company did punch hole, its okay to bashing them? Meizu fans are the most hypocrite

Large Bezels (iPhone 8 Plus) are worse than Periscope Cam (OnePlus 7 pro).
The Periscope Cam (OnePlus 7 Pro) is worse than the Swivel Cam (Asus Zenfone 6).
The Swivel Cam (Asus Zenfone 6) is worse than the Large-Notch (iPhone X).
The Large-Notch (iPhone X) is worse than the Short-Notch (OnePlus 7t).
The Short-Notch (OnePlus 7t) is worse than the Slim Bezel (Samsung S9).
The Slim Bezel (Samsung S9) is worse than the Holepunch (Oppo Find X2).
The Holepunch (Oppo Find X2) is worse than the Mini-Bezel (Meizu 16S).
And the Mini-Bezel (Meizu 16S) is worse than the (ASUS RoG Phone 2).
...what the ASUS RoG Phone 2 has is two symmetrical slim bezels, no moving mechanical parts, and no blemishes on the screen. And each bezel houses its own Front-Firing Stereo Loudspeaker. It's ergonomic to hold, enjoyable to look at, and fantastic to listen to. Currently the best of the compromises.
