My old Nokia 5500 phone had that feature way back in 2008. One of the slickest thing ever. My phone will be in my pocket and I could control my music just by tapping my pocket.

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2020Well actually android is much better already. It's too bad that most of its heavily fragmented userbase won't be able to use it lol.

of course this is most welcome. any new feature has the potential to be useful. more options for the user, specially because it’s user programmable. and if it can be activated/deactivated, then there’s lesser chance for it to cause confusion in ui.

while I have customised mine to have shortcuts to features but having a hardware gesture that will work no matter what is great. why are you complaining about more features?

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2020Running out of ideas? It's actually a great idea. With the way phones are getting bigger by the day, it's gonna be pretty handy, especially for screenshots and recent apps. Less hand gymnastics :)

No need of double tapping the back of the device for basic tasks, as those can be easily done by mapping the home button (long pressing it, for ex.)

It's a good feature too but Google should also implement it on the Pixel 3...
