My old Nokia 5500 phone had that feature way back in 2008. One of the slickest thing ever. My phone will be in my pocket and I could control my music just by tapping my pocket.

Very helpful but...I wonder if you install a case on the back!?

Imran6, 21 Mar 2020It's actually a great idea. With the way phones are getting bigg... moreWhat if you tap your bulky smartphone a little too hard and it suddenly falls from your hand?

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2020Android is getting better each and every update unlike ios haven... moreWhy bring iOS into a discussion that has nothing to do with it? Insecure much?

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2020Well actually android is much better already. It's too bad that most of its heavily fragmented userbase won't be able to use it lol.

What about the bouble tap to lock the screen ?
Thia feature must be there !!!

google please implement this feature for all android devices

of course this is most welcome. any new feature has the potential to be useful. more options for the user, specially because it’s user programmable. and if it can be activated/deactivated, then there’s lesser chance for it to cause confusion in ui.

James Whister, 21 Mar 2020No need of double tapping the back of the device for basic tasks... moreMore intuitive input modes means better user experience.

travstr, 21 Mar 2020well I personally use gestures so this is a pretty good feature.... moreAm not complaining, but why add a feature which will drain battery and not many people will use. Also it might not work on hard covers.

Imran6, 21 Mar 2020It's actually a great idea. With the way phones are getting bigg... moreSpot on, this is way easier to reach than a button combination

The screenshot one looks pretty useful

why they are heading backwards nowadays ???
why we need these kinda things...when we have "3-finger-swipe" screenshots...

while I have customised mine to have shortcuts to features but having a hardware gesture that will work no matter what is great. why are you complaining about more features?

Already more useful than Soli

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2020Running out of ideas? It's actually a great idea. With the way phones are getting bigger by the day, it's gonna be pretty handy, especially for screenshots and recent apps. Less hand gymnastics :)

No need of double tapping the back of the device for basic tasks, as those can be easily done by mapping the home button (long pressing it, for ex.)

It's a good feature too but Google should also implement it on the Pixel 3...
