P40 Pro Plus has just created a new category of smartphone: The Super Flagship. This is the first Super Flagship in the history of smartphones, to which no other smartphone can be measured up to.

The P40 Pro periscope seems to use the same sensor size and same lens as the P30 Pro periscope camera, but with more megapixels. It's possible that they don't crop the periscope camera anymore. Previously it wasn't really a 5x lossless zoom due to the low megapixel count.
The sensor size and focal length of the P40 Pro+ periscope camera, which is the most interesting camera, are not known.

Mine has 3 and never was problem.
I think it is pointless to leave tons of apps open, because they will be using power and services on background.

Also, many do not know. But when you have same device with 2 values of ram like S20 Ultra has 12 and 16, the unit with 16 will have worse battery life.

I would guess it has about 11mm2, I do not know exctly the value.

With this FL, a larger sensor would make periscope thicker and wider.

Btw I own Mate20pro and I prefer Mate as well. qHD screen, IR blaster, Notification LED. Ofcourse mate40pro will probably NOT have LED, but I hope the rest will stay. And ofcourse new CPU and mainboard tech. You are all correct.

But I would be happy with p40pro+ as well. Not heavy user, I can stick to 990 5G for years. My mate20pro is way faster than I need to anyways.

The 8MP 10x zoom camera sensor is tiny (someone could share the exact size?), and it's also not too bright at f/4.4.

No matter how good this product is, it should not be allowed to prosper. As long as Huawei is a national company to the ccp, it should not be allowed to flourish.

Nick.B, 26 Mar 2020It is actually cheap for what tech you get. That's agressiv... moreIt is not.

It is 1400 euros. But price would be higher if it had google services (not free, unlike android), a 2020 CPU (that will come with mate 40), ddr5 ram (kirin supprts ddr4x ) and QHD (no matter how many Hz).

It is actually cheap for what tech you get. That's agressive pricing from Huawei. Wish the the best. I personally will buy it in June. I hope they release it sooner like May. Let's hope so!

Everything is awesome, but I can't understand why huawei not enriching the pixel density and resolution in such giant flagships. This makes me worried. I was expecting a 4k resolution atleast a pixel density over 550 and above. Other than photography it seems lower specs than the Sony xperia 1ii

This phone charges wireless faster than a lot of top smarthpones by wire :)
                                  Huawei are insane
And 10x optical, and all the other amazing tech wifi 6+, multi band 5G, and a lot other stuff

The price seems steep but I guess I have to take in consideration the large 512GB storage, the historical long lens which is first to be feature on a smartphone and the first commercially available 40W wireless charging among the others. To all you valuable commenters, does the technology justify the price for you?

                                      Huawei keeps upping the ante.
