AnonD-24171, 10 May 2012Galaxy Note is as same as Galaxy S3
All specs are the same... moreGalaxy S3 and Note are not same size:
S3 = 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm
Note = 146.8 x 83 x 9.7 mm
Even tech spec are not same.

Galaxy Note is as same as Galaxy S3
All specs are the same only the CPU but i can tell you the dual Exynos 1.4 is very fast it equals quad core of Tegra, I tried most of HD games and HD movies non of them lags at all.
The rest are features all can be ported by developers such as S voice and watch videos while using the phone and Camera features => takes several shots then picks the better one for you, Galaxy Note has NFC so the S beam maybe will work too.
Plus the Note has stylus and bigger display.

Stupid comment, get a phone because it has what you need. Not because it's the best thing since sliced bread. I have a Galaxy Note, people were telling me to wait for the S3, but I do graphic design so the NOTE is better for me with the s-pen. Galaxy S3 is to the S2, what the iPhone 4S was to the iPhone 4. Slightly better spec over a year later.

Anonymous, 10 May 2012to all those posting on the gs3 and saying that it is a dis... morethere's your problem. u haven't owned a samsung phone yet, which means u probably won't understand the dissappointment when s3 was launched.
yes, it most probably is the best android ever, BUT, whatever it can do, the note and s2 can also, if not all then maybe 80-90% of its abilities.
major difference is quad core and better screen. i dont care bout pentile, (i have a nexus and the screen seems fine) but the rest of the differences is mainly on the software side.
on the hardware side, there definitely are differences ( besides the screen and cpu, such as the better camera), but not so tangible to normal people.
suffice to say its the same when the iPhone 4s came out. it was better than iP4, but definitely not out of this world.
anyway, the dissapointment will go away and people will accept it as it is.

Anonymous, 10 May 2012to all those posting on the gs3 and saying that it is a dis... moreS3 may have better specs but if specs were the only reason apple shouln have sold those insane number of phones and tablets they managed to sell,i dn hate samsung,infact i like s2 very much bcos it was the one phone which took the iphone head on and managed to do it but even for me s3 is a huge disappointment aesthetically,feels like cheap plastic,if i'm shelling out money fr a phone,i want its looks to be in the range of phones tht demand tht much money bcos most ppl don understand specs,i cant pay 500GBP to get galaxy y or the ace

Denmark, SIM-free - have not got it as of yet OTA. I am currently downloading Kies to my computer and hopefully I am very lucky and able to download the update in that way though i doubt it will make a difference. However, I am lacking a USB-cable as I'm currently out of the house :-/

Anonymous, 10 May 2012to all those posting on the gs3 and saying that it is a dis... morePersonally, I don't like Samsung phones because it doesn't suffice my need.
I can't tell you not to buy this phone because it depends on the user's lifestyle.
First, a good compass/map/gps is important to me and I have tried several Samsung phones (including owning one) and the compass is problematic and GPS pinpointing is inaccurate a lot of times. OPn the other hand, my friend owns Galaxy Note and he's not the type who uses compass and maps but he watch a lot of videos and likes drawing stuff so the Note is perfect for him and he likes it.
I think every phone is actually good since it targets different market/user that's why you can't find a feature of one phone from another.
So it depends on your lifestyle like how you will use your phone (besides call and text): if you mostly consider shooting pics/video then get a phone with the best camera. If you watch vids a lot and loves browsing, then a big screen phone is best for you like the Note. etc.....
Personally, I'm using Sony Xperia S (Android) and I love the phone. It's more than fast enough on things I use it for (Dual Core 1.5ghz). Screen maybe not as big as Note but that's the way I like it. I find it hard and uncomfortable holding a huge phone like Note. The screen clarity though is really nice. The compass and GPS (backed by Russia GLONASS) pin points my location way more accurate and fast than other phones I used (Location based function is impt to me because I drive a lot and explore a lot of new places I'm not familiar). I can go all day with all the bits of my phone..
Nokia is a good phone actually. I was deciding between N9 and Sony Xperia S, but ended up with Sony because there are some apps I need that are not in N9 yet. But I see N9 as a really good phone with Meego OS. If they only continue the support for Meego I will definitely buy it.
About the Galaxy Note, I personally don't like the screen tint. It looks dark and not that clear to me. And it lags too. I don't know why it does since it has 1.4ghz Dual Core, but it does lag I noticed. Plus it's just a blown up Galaxy S II. Specs are almost same. I would rather buy the Galaxy S II than the Note.
Sorry for the long post.

Abhorrence, 10 May 2012Fuck's sake. When is the rest of the world getting ICS for ... moreAye chutiye.. I have been on ICS with my Galaxy SII in India since January. You don't even need to root your device for it. Goto androidadvices website (.com) and there you can see a EUROPEAN as well as an Indian ICS update with instructions. Just follow that and you're done. Btw, in India, Samsung has officially pushed the update. It arrived in the last week of March.
