I can stop pubgm/codm and use a gamepad for emulators, though 3ds would look too small.

I am the purchaser at a Communications company, but also the resident 'advanced support'. While a 4" iPhone SE is challenging to use at this point, I don't find 4.7" displays to be that big an adjustment.
This handset doesn't fit your wants, but it will to many of the millions currently using an iPhone 6, 6S, 7, or 8. Personally I'm holding out hope that the rumored 5.4" 39:18 (ie. '19.5:9') model comes to fruition as that would be slightly narrower than this.

Historically its been a hard thing to get used to. And todays games like pubgm codm benefit from the large screen, easier to spot enemies, easier to play with onscreen buttons. And the emulators i mostly play are games designed for big screens like the gamecube and wii, and stuff that needs dual screens lile ds and 3ds. So yeah whatever the portable consoles used to be its not enough.

The last phone I've had that was comfortably 1-handed was an iPhone 4; every phone I've owned since (Nexus 4, HTC One M7, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S7, Essential PH-1, iPhone X) has been slightly larger than I'd like. I welcome a smaller option.

It will maintain API compatibility longer, be secure longer, hold its value longer. iPhone 8 will be viable for several more years, and whatever they end up naming this, even longer.

(single core is 2 years ahead), most reliable result is from geekbench. I don't see how multicore (ridiculously 8 cores) has any better than a super OP single core.
Think about it, u have multiple super trashy cores, vs having one good core(chip)

DarRid, 01 Apr 2020S7 edge still gets security updates. They stopped updating ... moreNo one glorifies it. I am an Android user that simply has no other option as I want a compact device. The S10e is great and it would be awesome if it had a successor or if other manufacturers adopted its design and form-factor philosophy, however with the S20 Ultra and the upcoming Nokia flagship, it seems to be going into a totally different direction. Also, as I said before, the S10e still costs around 100 bucks more than the iPhone9 is rumoured at, despite being more than one year old.
The only Andoid hope I have would be the Pixel4a, but even this one is bigger.
I agree with you, though, that one should wait for it to be announced, possibly even for the first reviews. The comparison between the iPhone9 and the Pixel4a will be interesting.

BTW I am not defending one or another. I am using both platforms on daily basis just it makes me lough how iPhone 9 is glorified before announcement. Let's wait for it and its price..

Android users are continue to be confused and angry. Using all kinds of android phones vs one model of iPhone, fortunately their only argument against this phone is that lonely S10e version.. no other phones even come near this size.
Let me expose to you some facts and reduce your confusion.
Fact 1. There is no flagship class phone of this size. Period. That includes 11 Pro.
Fact 2. Its TouchID is a no compromised solution. Unlike Samsung's S series sonic fingerprint failure, or the S e series with its small useless side fingerprint scanner. The touchID, also acts like an anchor so you don't drop your phone, and allow easy way to navigate in iOS, double tap for reachablity, double click for recent apps, etc etc.
Fact 3. The battery life in this formfactor is also without competition.
Fact 4. This phone has very long usability and will be supported for YEARS to come. Even old phones like 5S is still getting security updates, which is unheard of in Android world.
Fact 5. The price of this phone is going to be lowest among iPhones, which in itself will draw endless crowds and buyers who wants a small and compact phone, and those that find XR / 11 to be too big.
Fact 6. iOS have a huge selection of apps, and top of the line updates. Games runs smooth and fast. All major companies support iOS in one form or another, no matter your needs, it will be resolved, due to the demand and user base.
Unfortunately i cannot remove your hatred for this phone. It's too good for any android user to fine any convincing argument against it, other then keep spamming "price price price!".
