Great, this means the 8 Pro is gonna be somewhere around $999. OnePlus you're a dead company walking. You'll never grow without making innovative phones. The OnePlus One was insanely inexpensive, the 2 wasn't great, the X was bad, but cheap, the 3 and 3T were fast and all around great phones, the 5 was meh, the 5T was all around amazing, the 6 was a step back with the notch, the 6T was a step back with the headphone jack removal, and the 7 Pro was amazing in every aspect except the price was getting higher, (and still not jack) the 7/7T/7T Pro were all pretty irrelevant, and this 8 series is gonna be terrible. No jack, a punch hole, a much higher price, and zero innovation.

OnePlus gained popularity from the innovative phones, the 8 series is exnovating.

the tech nerd, 02 Apr 2020I think the only thing oneplus doesn't have in its arsenal ... morethey gon use the same custom sensor as the oppo find x2 pro, you know that they're comparable, if not better, than the bright hmx2 in s20 ultra. And it surely is better than the sensor inside of the s20+, which is oneplus 8 pro's fitting competitor.

A 12... moreI think the only thing oneplus doesn't have in its arsenal is good photography(i mean yeah it's better than Xiaomi when housing the same sensor) buuut it is not enough when compared to the big dogs like Apple and Samsung or Google and most of the people honestly do factor camera when buying a phone with a more hefty price tag(like 800 dollars) and if their camera performance is similar to last year when compared to the big dogs then they just simply can't justify this hefty pricetag this year at all for their pro model(oneplus 8 lite or Z or whatever its name will be could be really good for the price though)

Anonymous, 02 Apr 20205G mate, those bands aren't cheap5G mate, not everybody needs it currently XD, if they launch a 4g version simultaneously for cheaper just watch the difference the models in the amount sales(i am sure just manufacturing the cheaper version just for different models must be costlier)

My OnePlus 7pro 5g is a beast that cost me under $700. A 120htz refresh and a snapdragon stepup I won't even notice just doesn't add up to me.. but don't get it twisted.. OnePlus is a great company that makes great phones. Nobody can expect a company to keep a price point from a year ago never mind 3 years ago but i can't wait to see if there is even a noticible difference between my 7pro 5g and the 8pro because the regular 8 seems like the same phone with a slight upgrade on its processor so I think $700 is where they should've been at as far as price point maybe $800 for the pro.. which still Would be cheaper than anything close in quality by a couple hundred. But what do I know.. Im an app dev I don't make phones.

Whackcar, 01 Apr 2020They'll be ok as long as they don't go crazy with their pri... moreYou'd be surprised how cheap wireless charging is, it is literally just a coil, it cost pennies.
Ok not literally pennies, but you can buy a Micro USB or USB-C plugged wireless receiver to strap on the back of your phone, and many cost less than 10€/$.
That's the wireless receiver + the usb plug price + the branding and all other sellers it got before you who all made profits, the fact the price is per unit and lots of stuff like that...
I am sure, it cost like 2€/$ per phone's manufacturing price to add.
Though the wireless charger itself obviously add to the cost when it is bundled with the phone, but adding the tech to the phone isn't expensive.
IP68 is, but this isn't a per phone thing, you pay to certify your model, but the cost they need to recover apparently would have added 30$ to the OnePlus 7's price.
