I always said when chinese brands like Xioami, OP, oppo and vivo started to put similar stuff used by other brands, the devices would cost as much as other charge.
Some ppl here did not believe. And prices would be even higher if these phones were not full of components made in China, which keeps them from import taxes and have cheaper manufacturing.

Costing less than $1000 is not an achievement. You can get a ton of better phones for OnePlus prices (Galaxy S10, for example).
