It's not about me; it's about the average buyer. Think like them. Put yourself in their shoes. When making a product, you tailor it from the ground-up, to meet the needs of different categories of people, unless you are targeting only one category.
I gave an example so simple to grasp, at least I thought. A lot of sales is made through referrals and recommendations, and few would have WF-XB700 off head. No matter how big Apple's collection would be, they'd never settle for such name, same with Samsung, and even Huawei. 4 letters (that isn't a word) and 3 numbers.
Words stick easier. Simplify!

Cyberchum, 03 Apr 2020Weren't you the one that mentioned/used M11 in your commemt... moreIMO the Sony naming scheme much better on differentiate each product from it generations. Sony have many earphone/headphone/speakers... products different from spec and range. Example XB = eXtra Bass, XB actually the shortform.
I suggest Sony to draw a "Product Mapping" just like the Mind Mapping, so it will be much easier for you to understand, but I am worry you would have critics from another point.

They could easily be many series of "Walkman Buds" with each denoting it's level of quality and/or price:
Walkman Buds V1, V2ÂÂÂ…
Walkman Buds W1, W2ÂÂÂ…
Walkman Buds X1, X2ÂÂÂ…
Walkman Buds Y1, Y2ÂÂÂ…
Walkman Buds Z1, Z2ÂÂÂ…
Is that easy for you to understand now?

That's easy. But replace that Galaxy M11 with SM-M115F (its model/version no.) and see difficulties. Becomes a mouthful and difficult to remember.
That's the point, but hey, you can keep going off on a tangent. Fits you just fine, I think.

And what about A01? Where does that go? Which one is midrange, which one is low range without actually looking up? No one knows unless someone is really interested to find out. Is Note 10 Lite actually in higher model range than S10+ or below it? I don't know without looking up. Do you? Of course you don't

Come back here when Samsung gets into headphones/earphones business and offers exactly 30 different models of just in-ear monitors like Sony does today and then let us know how they name their products. For sure it ain't gonna be Galaxy Buds Plus, Galaxy Buds Pro, Galaxy Buds Ultra and then another 27 variations.

Cyberchum, 02 Apr 2020You should learn how customers think. You don't need to own... moreNo. A customer looking for a new pair of headset would first look at the brands, and then once they're interested, then they'd take a look at them. Naming will be confusing only in the beginning, but eventually you'll see the pattern as they create a new version while following the same naming pattern but changing it a bit in terms of the number for generation.
Samsung only sells one type of headset, while Sony is selling several variety of it. If naming was actually the problem, then nobody would be buying these products, but sales tell a different story, and even tech reviewers recommend them over Apple's AirPods.
You are just confused, but the fact that you could've chosen to learn them instead of bashing them, yet you still chose to waste your time for this nonsense, is very unproductive and uneducational for yourself. And definitely it did nothing to change Sony's strategy, if they'd even listen to you, that is.
