Why didn't just smartphone manufacturers make a simple good reliable bloat free smartphone.
Here are the steps to follow for the above smartphone:
1. Take the body of Nokia N8 or N9 made of Polycarbonate or aluminum but not glass. (Can be wood)
2. Make it slimmer and bezel less though no punch holes notch or pop up.
That's up for the body, now for software:

Totally not worthed. P40 Pro 8/256GB is just $860 in my country with crazy camera. Exynos S20+ 8/128GB is even cheaper at $775.

Sorry GSMarena, but Galaxy s20+ has starting price in USA $1199 when OnePlus 8 pro has $899. Why did you said that s20+ is cheaper than OP8pro????

Some of statements given in the write-up are not factual.
Samsung S20+ was initially priced at $1200;
Samsung S20 was initially priced at $1000;
P40Pro was initially priced at $1000;
The pricing for OnePlus 8 Pro was a well-reasoned decision, at $900, below the initial prices of all bigger name flagships.
OnePlus 7T Pro was priced at $750. OnePlus 8 Pro is priced $150 higher, because for comparably spec'd units, an SD865 based phone costs at least $100-$150 more when compared to an SD855 based phone, due to component price increases, i.e., higher cost for LPDDR5 vs LPDDR4x, higher cost of UFS3.1 vs UFS3.0, and higher cost SD865 SoC vs SD855 SoC.

I remember back when Poco F1 was new and it was considered as a flagship phone killer, then someone quoted that just because a phone has a flagship SoC doesn't make it a flagship phone since it only has LCD display and one useful back camera, and everyone disagree with it.
Now with the iPhone SE 2020 came out with fastest SoC in mobile device to date, while having an old-style display, single back camera, and a battery that so small even it's smaller than that Xperia 5, which came out from the brand that known for its choice of petite battery, would people call this iPhone as flagship killer?

No thanks. As we go deeper into 2020 and things stabilize, there will be better offerings in the mid range and the ever-so-interesting mid-high-end range - i.e. the range of budget flagship killers.
Anyone willing to shell out the kind of money OP8 and Pro demands may as well go for a Samsung / Apple device, so OP can suck it up.
As for GSMArena's latest love-affair with OnePlus and the rather constant promotion, yeah, we see it alright. Try harder though.

OnePlus can definitely compete with the likes of Samsung and Apple when it comes to hardware but their main pitfall is still the camera/camera software. It's definitely gotten better over the years but OnePlus thinks they can price their phones very close to Samsung/Apple territory when one of the features consumers value the most still lags behind Samsung and Apple's offerings. At that rate I'd just spend a little extra money on something like an S20+ knowing the entire camera experience would be very well-rounded and more consistent. Other than that OnePlus excels at everything else, I wouldn't mind buying the Pro 6 months after launch if it had a headphone jack.

The only Chinese brand left to look for budget phone are Realme & Honor. OnePlus keep trying to be Apple. What's next? $700 wheels?

"Pricing", "[not] flagships", "[not] flagship-killers" - all these are wrong thoughts! The only right thought is "WHY THE HELL CURVED DISPLAY IS STILL THERE?". Again, people of GSMArena, you are supposed to be the SMART ones, who knows why curved displays are trash and who tells about it to your readers and to manufacturers. Why don't you do that?!

At 4510, the battery is larger than most phones. And you guys have given nothing but good thoughts on OxygenOS. The camera should be fine, considering its the same sensor in the Find X2 Pro and that got a score of 124 from Dxomark. https://www.dxomark.com/oppo-find-x2-pro-camera-review/

I think they joined flagship area way too soon. Camera software still needs a lot work, they could also inculde one or two more latest sensors.
