Sangrial, 19 Apr 2020People keep complaining that OnePlus phones keep rising in ... moreSo when OP3 came up.. wasn't it among the high end processors? And OP6 claimed that they have not officially certified the IP rating clearly for cost cutting.. and now OP 8 is.. out of range. Whatever people think.. last phone i had and have is OP6. Can't spend more than that. Time to try something new..

sahafiec, 20 Apr 2020meanwhile so great and expensive that it's not worth buying... morewhat phone would u buy instead?

Oneplus completely missed the mark this year. Over here in Canada the op 7 pro costs $669 CAD while the op 8 pro costs $670 more than the op 7 pro at $1339.....wtf. That price bump is unjustifiable.

meanwhile so great and expensive that it's not worth buying anymore. bye bye OnePlus, it was nice to meet you. take care...;)

I liked OnePlus' USP when they were flagship killers. But with the 8/8 Pro and the price tags they come with, they are directly aligned with the big boys and their league.

cherry, 19 Apr 2020In Europe this year it seems that all deals are very bad. S... moreYou are right can’t believe what’s going on with the android phones , there prices are getting higher even getting in to Apple range.

UK has got crappy Exynos phones also oneplus 6 was the last phone I had which was an android and even when I came to resell it , I only got £110 for it because android phones do not hold there value.

That’s why I have now jumped on the Apple at least they resell for a better price and the performance you get passes any android phone.

First I wandered why Apple fans look at android people funny but now I know why.. because off too many android phones that do not hold there value .

UFS 3.0, 19 Apr 2020It's has ufs 3.0 not ufs 3.1.Thanks for spotting the deliberate error ! It begs the question why UFS 3.1 was not used - the vivo iQOO 3 5G is the first phone to sport this spec.

It must be noted that not all implementations of UFS 3.0 derive similar read/write performance, e.g., the UFS memory on Samsung’s Note 10 Plus is significantly faster than that on OnePlus 7 Pro.

The UFS 3.1 standard allows for higher capacity storage with reduced power consumption, and of course the obligatory speed enhancements for any updated iterative storage spec, aided by the incorporations of new features such as 'deep sleep mode', 'write booster' and 'host performance booster'.

Some manufacturers have already utilised some of the UFS 3.1 features into their UFS 3.0 phones, namely the realme X50 Pro with the implementation of 'write booster' and 'host performance booster', which together results in improved random read and random write speeds.

Hopefully the OnePlus 8 Series too has borrowed these UFS 3.1 features. Clarity shall be given with the upcoming reviews with their speed tests.

Assuming your statement is correct, either you conduct a business as you previously stated, or you follow the example of Microsoft's adventure in mobile computing.

I am in no way providing a justification for the decisions of businesses to maintain their profitable existence, but ultimately if a business cannot coerce the sale of their merchandise, the business will fail.

The fine balance between the ethics of running a business in all its guises, on the one hand, with maintaining a healthy balance sheet is fraught with complexity, and even more so under the morally bankrupt system called capitalism.

Probably this all is why BBk created Realme.
To fill the sub $600 category.
A midrange with Snap 8xx series.

That was always obvious. Honor, OP and Xiaomi were cheaper because they had less. When you put everything, price goes sky high.

It would probably be much higher if BBK siblings did not work closely.
                          OP7 Pro is 99% a vivo nex.

People keep complaining that OnePlus phones keep rising in price. The same people have been bashing OnePlus for not adding the hardware they want and then when they DO add them to new generations of phones, the SAME people complain that "OMG a price jump again! GJ OnePlus"!
Like WTF people, you expect them to give you the best and greatest hardware while LOWERING the price? The latest and greatest stuff COSTS money, ofc, this cost gets passed to you. They NEED to money to play their employees AND R&D the next generation of OnePlus devices.
If you think you can do better, then why don't you do it yourselves?
And yes, I DO own a OnePlus 7 Pro and I f*cking loving it! Best phone EVER!

Has the logic completely escaped most people.

This argument is like car manufacturers colluding to raise to raise the price of cheap compact cars to $75,000, and now you stating that they are good value and worth this much because there is no alternative.

These things are poor value, especially compared to other BBK group phones and are really nothing special at this price. In Canada it is +$600 for practically nothing more and even downgraded in areas such as the notch less screen.

I'm glad I got the 7 pro and did not wait for this, gouging at its finest.

Hopefully they vastly improve the phone making it a standout product in all categories (which they seem unwilling or don't have the resources to) for the 8t series or more appropriately, lower the price.

This is like a company that got rich off the backs of their early niche geek audience then proceeded to chase the starbucks crowd because relying on the geek crowd is no longer profitable.
