Listen, you seem to have taken my messages as an attack on the SE when even a 5 year old could see they were in fact a defence of that product.

You can disagree all you want. This is the reason why i replied short memories people like you. You just show you are clueless and out of your mind or perhaps plain jealous! Performance is the biggest selling point right now. With the SE all top of the range games will play ultra settings unlike budget phones. It will trump some of the flagship phones as well. This is best news for gamers as they cant afford the flagship iPhones. I also see so many people complaining about android being laggy and slow as hell in general after a year or 2. Its proven with my Note 5 and all previous android phones. This is never the case with a iPhone. Since the 6s it was a monster years for Apple.

It doesn't sound like you are making a point to me. You are completing missing the point of the SE. People care about performance which SE trumps any budget android heck it challenge the flagship phones. Did you know the A13 are the fastest and best cpu so far? I guess you did not! So for 400 bucks with the best specs its a steal. Plus longer updates aswell. So Performance + Updates = Winner. The LCD, camera, etc are perfectly fine for a budget phone.
In the end you only think the biggest selling points is the OS updates but its not. Its all about performance and snappy fast smooth OS. Hell my Secondary Phone Note 5 is miles slower than iPhone 7 Plus even though the Note 5 screen is obviously better but I will always chose Apple as my primary because of they best eco system and performance.

I wasn't attacking the SE's screen quality, I was actually saying it would be of good enough quality to anyone purchasing one. I count myself among one of those as I have just gifted an SE to my wife who is (as predicted) more than happy with it.

i know because my parent pre ordered the iphone se2 because i had the original se. Why wont iphone make an iphone 9. dpes the se2 count as the iphone 9

My 6 year old iPhone 6 still ... moreActually, you could probably expect OS updates out to iOS 17 on this, maybe even beyond, though those would inevitably have either, variations to features that rely on hardware unique to the 10 series designs, or be absent them. 4-5 years software support is a high probability though.

Anonymous, 18 Apr 2020sorry but the sensor is different for every generation . Me... moreActually the main sensor on the pixel 4 is said to be the same IMX363 as was used in the 3 series. Those being a minor upgrade to the IMX362 found in the pixel 2. So I guess we are both right and wrong.
But whatever hey, improvements have been made in any case. Also, yes the screen in the SE is in all likelihood the same as that in the iPhone 8, I doubt that’s going to matter to the million’s who end up getting one.
Hell they could always choose a budget android instead yeah, that way the only thing they have to put up with never getting updated is the software.

The A13 is 40% more efficient which means the 1800 mah battery will be a lot better than in say the Iphone 8

My 6 year old iPhone 6 still runs good with the most recent iOS (12.5.6) with no problems. I'm expecting this newfangled SE will get iOS 14--maybe 15--and will get security updates thereafter for the next 4 years. Despite my current iPhone working good I'm still planning to get the SE this coming supper.

A lot of people are willing to commit $399 for the latest generation chip and a nice compact phone. No wonder they sold out of initial supple in the first day of preorder release. I’ve been waiting for this sort of pricing for a new generation phone for years as Im sure others have as well. Back when the iphone 4 came out this was the norm. It will do everything you need and then some without you having to spend 1k+ on a phone. Smart move by apple prior to the release of their new 5g device later this year.

The SE 2020 is just a... moreAlready iPhone 11 & XR cutting its margins by making people NOT to go after its very margin Pro models, with 2020 modern design plus possible cheap price tags, Apple will be competing with Xiomi, Vivian, Honor, ZTE on profit margins!! I am sure Apple does this every 5 years once to stabilise it’s falling user base & adoption. None these SE buyers would spend on Apple ecosystem instead use them only for very few selected actions. Apple never gets anything out of this SE....but trying to trap them with the poor battery as time bomb which will force users when 5G becomes standard would contemplate moving for higher priced models in a year or two where 5 G becomes available everywhere

Interesting... Just browsed through a few EU sites and it seems that red and white are in more demand (delivery in 1-2 weeks) in countries like GER, UK, FRA, POL, ITA, AUT, SPA, POR (only red in SWE and IRE) whereas black's deliveries got pushed back to 1-2 weeks in CZE (and HUN also with red)...
Also, black and white are to be delivered in 4-6 days in China. Red in 1-2 weeks (all capacities) :)

Maybe a small price hike will be fine if the phone was so much better and not merely recycled but the hardware. Battery is meagre, at least 2000 mAh (take it from Plus models) for iPhone is appreciated. Upper bezel could be slightly thinner to accomodate screen (not saying that it has to be eliminated).
