The human eye can perceive the equivalent of a 500MP image.

I also hope that Samsung first gets 108MP Ultra working. I own the device and I have to say the quality in bright light is excellent (as for all phone cameras).
But when the light goes tim strange things are starting to happen. With latest software update dark regions and shadows are blurred (in pro mode they have detail and noise, but in auto mode the same region of the picuteres is blurred out). In low light details are gone and heavy noise reduction with blurring starts to happen. Yes, night mode works great, but even 9+ does better job in dark without night mode.
Then there is shutter lag that happens due to slow autofocus. So taking pictures of moving objects in auto mode will have 0,5s delay (in pro mode it does not have this problem).
Third thing is sky color... S20 series does not have natural sky blue, it always makes it oversaturated blue. Even when the sky is grey, samsung will add blue cast to it. Sometimes the burned grey sky will get blue regions due to HDR.
So I am waiting next update (because I cant roll back). I hope at the end of the year Samsung will learn how to use their nona-cell technology.

Hey, why stop there, why not go for a 5000 MP sensor.. What a bunch of idiots..
The microns will be almost non-existing in size..

How about fixing your sh*tty camera tech first and stop scamming your international customers with your even sh*ttier, midrange, garbage exynos chips..

i am all for it, go samsung!!!!!

I've been saying it since a while. Samsung has lost the plot & is developing gimmickry products. Whether you look at their recent phones or their sensors. All full of gimmicks.

How stupid are these people ! Samsung cleared their intention on where they want to use the 600MP sensor. It's not for Smartphone. It can be used in drones, vehicles, medical industry or other use.

GsmArena also exaggerate the details to make readers believe that this sensor might be for smartphone.

Make a 12mp sensor with largest pixel size possible. That will be better than a sensor with more pixels with small pixel size.

12 megapixels with high quality optics are more than enough. Maybe next year they gonna raise it to 1000 megapixels. These manufacturers are crazy. They need to optimize thier camera software first.

Most people complaining about how 'bad' the s20 ultra is doesnt even have an s20 ultra

We don't need higher megapixel camera.

Can Samsung please focus on providing better battery technology to prolong on-screen time and the need to charge it every 3 days or more with heavy use.

It is already difficult to spot a difference between the really good older 12 mpix versus 48/64/108 mpix

LilPhone, 21 Apr 2020As always, develops tech no one is interested at. Just look... morePersonally I prefer 15w or 25w max for charging because it improves battery life by not subjecting it to higher heat.

As always, develops tech no one is interested at. Just look at the Chinese with 65W charging, that makes more sense.

600MP with a puny micron pixel? No thanks, I'm not interested.

                              600MP too high, need 150MP or 143MP

Even their 100mp is bad, the ultra proved that and sensor resolution doesn't mean anything if the lens can't resolve as much.

london2tim, 21 Apr 2020maybe they should first make one phone that isnt riddled wi... moreExactly! Why release phones boasting of superior hardware when the controlling software is inferior? The least they can do is to ensure that the software is optimized well enough for the hardware at launch rather than patching up later with updates. Sadly true for most of the manufacturers rather than Samsung.

maybe they should first make one phone that isnt riddled with issues - or fix the s20 range - rather then moving on to 600mb camera sensors when clearly they cant even master the ones they have atm

this is whats wrong with samsung today - is not interested in launching a brilliant phone - they just dump half baked phones and leaves bread crumbs for idiots towards their next big (failed) device
