Still!! If I get a chance to buys those better new gen HTC SONY NOKIA devices ill simply ignore all of these phones. Of course Sony has some new phones, which I cannot find in India. I whish it were otherwise.

Anonymous, 24 Apr 2020A software update wont be able to fix this. Its the panel ... moreThis issue was also present in Older OnePlus devices.
My brother has OP7T g its also show slight greenish tint towards on side of panel in boxy patterns. Its clearly a Hardware issue.

Now OP commanding high end prices, their phones should be worthy to justify that.but clearly OP hardware quality is inferior to other top brands like Apple/samsung/Sony.

Houston to OnePlus: we have a 1000 euros problem.

OnePlus to Houston: No, no problem, we will hire few more marketing people and pay some more celebrities and adds to fool and blind customers ASAP. Add 100 euros more to the price of OnePlus 8T and 8T Pro for compensate that. NEVER SETTLE!!!! In prices...

Had the exact same issue on my OnePlus 7T. E-mailed OnePlus about it. They said they'll fix it but it hasn't been fixed till date

                                I'll pass!
In saying that I've been using amoled panels for years and I've never had these issues.

This isn't OnePlus's fault. The problem lies in Samsung's displays. It was present on S20 series as well, and had to be minimized with software tweaking. OnePlus will probably fix it the same way.

The inherent problem with amoled displays - uniformity issues: Color shift upon tilting, color shift in low brightness settings. As mentioned by another poster, IT'S A LOTTERY and its not unique to a phone brand. Samsung, LG and Iphone users can get bad panels and experience these issues.

Not everyone gets a good panel in their amoled screen phones, so if you're unfortunate to receive a bad one, have the phone replaced ASAP. Software updates to make the poor uniformity panel look more tolerable, are at best, a compromise. You're actually better off making screen display color/calibration adjustments yourself (if your phone allows it like Samsung phones), rather than have a software update fix it.

The reason is because amoled panel uniformity and color shift characteristics can differ from one unit to another. A software update to make one unit's panel more tolerable, can make other units with different non-uniformity characteristics worse. So it's either 1. Have your phone replaced to get one with better screen uniformity (the replacement could be better OR worse) ; 2. Wait for a software update (the update can make it better OR worse) or 3; Make color adjustments/calibration to the screen if the phone's software allows it (Samsung phones and tablets have such display setting tweaks/adjustment).

This will most probably be rectified with a software update. Guys no need to freak out!
