AdamBoy64, 24 May 2012Yeah, unfortunately you can't purchase the Dell Venue Pro a... moreI am sure if you're trolling but your info. are way off.

"It puts all your phone settings, contacts - everything - on the internet."

That's not true at all. Windows Phone is way more secure than malware infested Android.

"unfortunately you can't purchase the Dell Venue Pro anymore"

You can buy Dell Venue Pro straight from Dell and other stores like Best Buy, Fry's Electronic and online stores (Amazon, Overstock, Newegg ect..) iPhones requires Apple ID, Android requires email too, and Windows Phone is the same.

I don't know what I'm thinking, upset or happy, because, if it's true, Symbian is abandoned, 808's price will get down fast, and I have chance to buy it sooner than expected :)) I am adored by its camera and the tech called PureView. To some one who love to use an great camera plus phone, as long as it can take good pictures, and can make good call, who care if there is update for it :))

problem is people aren't the market anymore, we aren't the customers. Its the Telco's who the phone companies sell to. Perhaps if Nokia realised this they'd pick up sales

                    do not believe this
they wouldn't just cancel years of working
they'll just re-announce it in another name and
little change in Gui and the
stupid user will think it is an all new thing

1- they tried to change the Gui
2- they tried to change the name Symbian to Nokia
3- they didn't cancel Symbian (Name) in front of the people

so they will now and thats it

"We have to wait for an official announcement, though it does makes sense –".... Does makes??

Hmm its okay, to err is human.
Being a typical Nokia fan, its shocking for me!

                          Ridiculous!
If Symbian is dead, Nokia will only have S40 (or other series and meltemi) for feature-phone (which is at the same price as low-end android phones) and Windows Phone for their mid to high-end device.
and I think they can't rely on Windows Phone only. As Windows Phone is still a baby, compared to iOS, Android, or even Bada.

Symbian was never going to stick around long-term, but I have to admit I was kinda hoping they'd provide another major update as part of their "support 'til 2016" commitment.

So long as there are bug fixes and patches, I don't see any reason to get upset. The system is fast, stable and feature-rich. It's just time to close that chapter of the book and move in a more profitable direction.

And from my understanding, a Live account is required to use the phone. It puts all your phone settings, contacts - everything - on the internet.

                              That's.. not for me.
