4a will also have a 1080p OLED screen.
Only the cheap iPhones are stuck with 720p LCDs.

iPhone SE has latest & greatest processor, water proofing, wireless charging. Long software support, good and fast camera due to latest cpu. And lastly, it's an iPhone (proven hardware, customer support and well made phone).
Nope, Pixel doesn't have a chance at $399. At $299, it can be excel. (Better display, Android, latest design).

I honestly think they should offer a 60hz but a normal cheap amoled screen instead of cheap lcd used by pixel 3a and iphone SE(they probably will use lcd though)

Modern non-recycled design
SD730 is more than capable of handling day to day tasks.
Bezelless 1080P OLED screen
3000+ mAh battery
iPhone SE:
2014 called, it wants it's chunky bezels back.
A13 SoC (will go underutilized on that tiny 720p screen).
1800 mAh battery (after some degradation, it will become a nightmare to use).
For US & EU users, the Pixel 4a will be a much better choice than the iPhone SE. In Asia, you can get better stuff at this price range though.

When it comes to SoC, iphone SE (2020) is offering latest and best of theirs in the price bracket where Pixel 4a will enter. But Pixel4a is not offering it's best SoC.
Coming to OS, though both offers latest, but iPhone will support for more years when compared to Pixel (unless Google wishes to go beyond 3 years of software updates).
As far as bezels are concerned, it's not going to make difference in either of the cases.
Here Pixel4a has lost nearly 75% of its chances to gain the market.
Only in terms of battery life Pixel4a seems better. But in reality what matters is efficiency of battery rather than its mAh.
Additionally, in India One+ is offering latest and best SoC in nearly same price bracket.
By delayed release Pixel4a, Google seems to have lost lots of its chances to be a game changer.
