Microsoft on the other hand was willing. Nokia didn't want just to become a phone manufacturer like Samsung/LG/HTC. Nokia had told in 2011 that Windows 7.x (Mango, Tango, etc) build has been freezed and will not include any of the nokia's inputs. They will come in Windows Phone 8 OS. So just wait for Nokia phones with Windows Phone 8 OS and then comment.

Symbian is a dead OS, no. of apps that is available to users of symbian is nothing compared to what an android or iOS user will get, the key reason why anyone wants to buy a smartphone, leave alone the features that one can get with android or iphone.
It would have been a good move to include such a tech on a lumia, that would have really made some sense, but with this phone shipping with symbian, many users will refrain from buying the phone just because of this one factor, not to mention the other specs are nothing to write about (ordinary display, etc.).Looks more like a camera to me, with a phone feature included.

Nokia had learned a lot from mistakes of N97 & N8 and have made this one. Even if symbian aka Nokia Belle supports ends in 2016, I'll still buy it because it will keep working beyond 2020 :-) I still have my 7 yr old N73 and it is working as expected. The funny thing is people are still ready buy a 7yr old N73 for Rs3500 just to take pictures and listen music on its stereo speakers while being able to make calls.

They Should Make a Budget-Featured PureView Phone,That has 18mp PV camera, Oversample 3mp x 6mp, If Nokia Makes Cheap Device But has PureView Than It Would Sell Like Hot-Cakes!!

I was puzzled between buying Samsung Galaxy S III or Nokia Pureview.
Now, I feel comfortable to say that Pureview should be my next phone because I simply trust Nokia and I know they make the best products.
I love you Nokia, Don't disappoint me please.
