24 May, 2012
These phones will have high resolution sensors and Carl Zeiss optics in a slimmer form-factor.

pureview 808 is meant for the adventurous kind of people. Not for the ones that have nothing else to do other than gaming and shuffling between apps. It's true, symbian is a dying platform. But there isn't anything that symbian can't really do. It's good to have a full blown browser in android but accept it, most people browse the internet though their laptops using unlimited broadbands.
People should actually be thankful to nokia that they haven't gone for the ultra restricted windows platform (no video call, no external memory card, no bluetooth transfer, no personal mp3 ringtone, zune software transfer, poor video codec suppor, etc etc) or the ultra demanding android platform. Imagine, if 808 had android, what would have been its hardware... Quadcore cpu, 1gb ram, front camera, back camera, high capacity battery, ice cream sandwich, etc etc... And it would have easily cost you 50,000+INR or $1000+. How many of you would have gone for this??
Be happy for the fact that with 808 you're getting the bestest symbian ever.
Go for it guys. Pureview 808 is a masterpiece. And probably it's the last symbian.
Show some respect for the platform that has served you for so many years.

Nokia is not like Samsung, HTC or Ericsson.. Just bad hardware and weak plastic gadgets. Nokia should persist and rule the phone's world again. I wish they had their unique OS like Apple without counting on Microsoft. They have the scientists and researchers. Why don't they do so?

if its more than 50000, ill agree that symbian is dead.
not everyone values apps only, because lets face it, its the key selling point for all iphones and androids

i will not buy this phone because i have n8
but a lot of people still appreciate quality over quantity. nokia phones have better build quality and call reception than any other maker. its a well known fact, all these phones you have today on the market will turn into dust in 3-4years. most phones (99%) older than 4 years are nokia.
this is also the reason why their sales are bad at the moment, people are now used to changing their phones every yeas, which just shows how "good" the today's phones are lol

Between the Nokia and Microsoft partnership I see only Elop's hand(Elop worked for Microsoft from January 2008 to September 2010 as the head of the Business Division ). If everything turns a succes, it's a succes and Microsoft has something to win, if it isn't Microsoft has a diyng company to buy cheaper than expected and still has something to win.
