He specifically mentioned that they wanted HTC camera tech, as they were the market leader. The interview was around Pixel 1 time. Look what happened, they took the good bits, became noted for Pixel being epic for cameras, boom.

I think brands that are about to die (HTC - Sony - LG) should focus on flagship phones only. Because many companies already offer great mid range phones. Otherwise they will lose again and again.

being late to implement an already divisive if not unpopular feature might not be the best idea for a brand that struggles to retain relevance in the market, i feel. nor do i feel like it's gonna have anything else to set it apart from the many likely cheaper competitors
