AnonD-55045, 24 May 2012I hope to see more and more models added to the "ICS o... moreICS really needs a good CPU and battery to get the best out of it. Even with the improved performance and support for full HD on larger screens.

The biggest killer I have personally found is the bloatware OEM people add. Running ICS 4.0.4 on a Galaxy Nexus S is pretty flawless and fast due to the lack of unwanted applications.

A factory ROM with no bloatware will always outperform one with it. Currently I'm using a Galaxy S 2 which after a long time decided to get root access and remove some of those unwanted applications.

Whilst the performance hasn't dramatically sped up, the handset is running what it does normally without the usual 'bloatware' sucking life out of my battery.

Samsung excuse of not giving ics to older phones was the low ram and rom. For their new phones like ace 2, s advance, and galaxy beam they increased the ram from 512mb to 768mb and the processors changed to dual core, so now those new phones should get the ics, except the galaxy mini 2 because the ram is only 512mb. You can say that 512mb is enough to run ics, but touchwiz may have more requirements than a vanilla ics. You can see that the phones that have 512mb and upgraded to ics become less smooth (like xperia neo v), that might be why Samsung didn't bother to upgrade all those old phones, and will only offer a value pack to them. It might be they don't wanna because they are lazy, but what i really started to believe that the value pack would be more smoother than the touchwiz with ics.

I hope to see more and more models added to the "ICS officially supported" list. The Desire C unmasked the truth behind OEMs excuses of lacking hardware in previous premium and mid range models. Less bull5h1t and more action, please.

If this crap gets ICS, then no excuse will ever hold any water that more capable phones cannot run ICS.
Which is a total BS from the start anyway...
