BegineR, 30 Apr 2020In my opinion, Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (global version) is ... more.. Also, Note 9 Pro have 520mAh bigger battery than Note 8 Pro in same thickness, so thats a also plus, i guess battery will be good as in the Note 9s (114 endurance rating, and after couple of MIUI updates, even better).

Anonymous, 30 Apr 2020One question no one seems to be answering is : Should i buy... moreIn my opinion, Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (global version) is better. Because of: it have Android 10 out of the box (Note 8 Pro, had Android 9), so longer support. It have, more efficient SoC, and it's a Qualcomm (G cam, more versions, more ROMs, better support on XDA and similar sites), it have faster charger in the box (39w, Note 8 Pro, had/have 18w). It have (in my opinion)_ more modern aspect ratio 20:9 (N8P 19:9). And, about pricing, like all Xiaomi phones, now in this month, yes maybe it will be more, than 250 euros, but in a middle of next month, the price will drop under 200 euros.. (At least on online sites, like Aliexpress, Gearbest etc). Camera seems identical in 9 Pro and 8 Pro, screen (IPS type) also, NFC is also there.. So you decide..

.. And one more thing, i think that (Note 9 Pro in Aurora Blue, only), have good design of back camera, so thats might be another plus, for someone, who wants 2020 Xiaomi midranger (with low price, and 8nm SoC).

Would be great if GSMa does a full review of the Note 9. It's nearly the same as the the 9s (9 Pro India) save for the chipset. This would be the best platform to compare battery life between both the SoCs.

To everybody confused, the 9s and 9 Pro are the same. The 9pro max has a faster charging battery. Why can't Xiaomi (or Redmi) have the same model names across the world is anybody's guess. The Samsung Galaxy S sells with Qualcomm in US and China and Exynos in the rest of the world. But they don't make a mish mash of features and names around it.

A Redmi 9, Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro with the same name and their respective feature sets across the world would make life so much easier. As someone with amateur interest in tech, I can barely keep track of their plethora of choices. Imagine an average customer wanting a Redmi is going to tear their hair off figuring out the differences before a purchase.

Oppaii, 30 Apr 2020Are ppl really that poor that they'll say this phones are o... moreAll phones are overpriced. They should all cost less than $250.

How and why ? Allow me to explain. Typically in the technology sector, prices fall over time, but the smartphone sub-sector disobeys this principle as the converse has been true - smartphone prices have only but risen over the past two decades.

All smartphone prices are hyperinflated because all you lot are fanbois of Apple, Samsung, Android, etc. The handset manufacturers realise our strong sense of brand ownership, thus the ever so slow incremental hike in prices have occurred over the years, where a position has reached today in 2020 such that the likes of OnePlus and Xiaomi price themselves as if they are flagship brands.

The entire mobile industry needs to be knocked down a peg or two, as an air of hubris has filled their chests - starting with the biggest and boldest ***t first - Apple.

One question no one seems to be answering is : Should i buy the Redmi Note 8 Pro or the Redmi Note 9 Pro? Global Versions

YUKI93, 30 Apr 2020For anyone who couldn't understand the naming: - Redmi N... moreThe best one to get is the Note 8 Pro. Better deal than all of these. Best one from this lot is the Note 9 Pro Europe version. But it's like 60 euros more than the Note 8 Pro without being significantly better in any way

Oppaii, 30 Apr 2020Are ppl really that poor that they'll say this phones are o... moreYup, that is the reality. Don't be surprised to see people still using outdated Android phones with no software version update or security patches.

For anyone who couldn't understand the naming:

                                - Redmi Note 9 Pro (India) -> Redmi Note 9S (Global)
                                - Redmi Note 9 Pro Max (India) -> Redmi Note 9 Pro (Global)
                                - Redmi Note 9, which is an entirely new vanilla third model of the lineup.

Naming scheme aside, all of them have near-identical spec except for the main camera, chipset and wired fast charging rate. If you ask me, I just cannot decide which one to pick.

Alex 94, 30 Apr 2020I had iPhone and I switched to Xiaomi. What now? It's obvious - switch to the OnePlus 8, and you shall never look back.

                                    Question:

When is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro not a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, and when does a Xiaomi Redmi phone become a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro ?

                                    Answer:

When the Indian Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro goes global to become a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, and when the Indian Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max goes global becoming a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro.

Clear as mud ? That will be the Redmi.

Alex 94, 30 Apr 2020Expensive. It's time for Realme now and their Realme 6 devi... moreRealme 6 series is around same price in Europe as these Note 9 phones
