I am an Indonesian, one reason why POCO F2 still uses 4G connectivity is because in Indonesia there is no 5G network available, so the 5G modem on the smartphone is turned off

at least that's what I hear from experts

5G is based on LTE tech, but just a little more advanced.
Unless you use mm-wave which current smartphones doesn't have, it will be about the same as having 5G branding.

So basically you are looking at least 3-4 years before 5G is implemented to a point where it is usable from every street corner.

Wish companies stopped obsessing about 5G, no need for it, other features are much more interesting and pressing. 4G is fine for the next two years, I won't pay extra for 5G.
5G is nothing that differentiates a smartphone for me.

Right now the only problem for Indonesia is to finalize the removal of old TV system (clearing 600MHz-700MHz frequency, and make a mega block of 600MHz-700MHz-800MHz-900MHz)

And clearing the 2.5GHz-3.5Ghz freq that were used by the satelite TV (Indovision & Free To Air).

5G is not coming until 2022 for the subscription in India so It doesn't matter if it's 5G or not.

No 5G no buy for me if this is for India. Right now my phone is 4yrs old so i want to upgrade, if it is not 5G then I dont want to spend another phone in next 1 or 2yr for 5G phone. I dnt usually switch phone am not rich. I wait so long in a hope of to upgrade to Poco F2 if they make it as deadly as F1.
Another thing Poco F1 dnt need any pro or lite version so why would F2 do. Poco is not the same anymore as expected.

Don't care if it will have 5G or not (for this specific Indonesian version) since there's no word about 5G support here yet. What I care more is whether it is the rebranded K30 or K30 Pro. I hope it's the Pro one with uninterrupted screen.

Danny, 01 May 2020No 5g? I'm not buying it. Considering the source of its certification, that might be because 5G isn't existed yet in Indonesia, nor its regulation. The phone should've supports 5G when it comes to countries that supports it.

I really hate it when somebody conclude things from single bit of information that's not even proved. You might be trolling, but I hope GSMArena invest their commentary pages on better platform e.g. Disqus. Just simply putting bunch of rules below comment writing won't help since this is internet.

                                Dear GSMArena,

The Indonesian certification department refuse to give 5G certificate. The Information ministry said please wait until all the law about 5G is final.

Huawei P40 Pro in Indonesia also don't have 5G certificate, but Huawei said that Indonesia will follow the rest of Asia/SE-Asia. And once the law about 5G in Indonesia is final, Huawei will ask for the 5G certificate & activated the 5G.

So, the 5G is just TURNED OFF right now.

How many subjects I can put in one pic is not important, how detailed the zoomed photo at a distance matters a lot. That is why I'm with Google when they said that telephoto is more important during the Pixel 4/4 XL launch, even the main camera with large megapixel would struggle with long zooms. More than that, you can actually use any mobile Tele lens from the likes of Moment or Sirui, to name just two, on top of the telephoto camera to achieve an even longer focal length than usual. Here's a great example for such case: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZokuMKHqCQ

Ultra-wide would be a nice convenience, though I would not bother with it much.
