Nice ideas but OnePlus will not implement them as they are too arrogant to take any feedback from their users and implement them.

OnePlus Dex like the Samsung Dex???

dbjungle, 02 May 2020Most of these people caring about this are not keeping the ... moreOkay, and with the global economy collapsing, which is far from done by the way, a lot of estival shops won't get money, more and more society will collapse and a lot more unemployed peoples will soon appear os statistics, because the damage the COVID-19 caused are time bombs and won't be visible before months.
Meaning many peoples that usually do won't have the money to buy new phones for a while.

Also I know a LOT of peoples either having no issues to keep their old phones, so many peoples have an iPhone 6 or a Galaxy 7 for example, and won't change as long as the phone still work.
My GF have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and if it wasn't starting to fail and it didn't became super slow, she would keep it for years, and that's EXACTLY why I want to buy her a flagship killer, so she have an SoC powerful enough b(SD865) so that in 5 years, even with all the performance degrading things that happen, she still have a phone that work really well.
This is not because many peoples change their phone every years or two that everyone do that.

Also, who care ? Because you don't care about a feature that you aren't forced to use anyway if it was implemented, no one should have it ?
That's exactly because of that stupid logic that every smartphones nowaday have a stupid notch or hole despite the many peoples disliking them and that there are no diversity in the smartphone poll with 85% of them being just a copy/paste of the others, because "51% of peoples don't care about it, so screw the 49 other and lets not implement something new".

Do you do the same with your car ? Because you'll anyway change it, lets revv from cold and not do any maintenance ?

Yeah, sure, so if you wake up late or have an emergency, you have a phone which isn't charged at all, even myself who doesn't have a job that require me to wake up at any specific time, I hate having to charge the phone on the morning, which is when I'll use it to see all the mails and notifications I received from the night but I have to deal with a cable.
And not all phone have quick charging, many entry level still have regular charging, yet a simple SOFTWARE based feature could make things better.

Same thing does apply here too, because YOU don't like it doesn't mean no one should have it.

AnonD-909757, 02 May 2020Except that it is proven that charging over a certain level... moreMost of these people caring about this are not keeping the phone long enough for it to matter. Second, the phones charge so fast now days you can leave if off the charger at night and just top it up while you get ready for work in the morning.

Anonymous, 01 May 2020How they gonna charge your to pay more for BT headsets and ... moreOh yeah. What was I thinking..?

That's the great thing about micro SD. Once you've paid for the storage. You don't have to keep on paying for it again and again when you get your next phone.

You can buy the cheapest version with the base storage and save yourself $100

dbjungle, 01 May 2020This battery thing is such paranoia imo. There are a lot o... moreExcept that it is proven that charging over a certain level and discharging bellow a certain level cause premature wear on the battery and fast charging is useless if you want to plug your phone for the night.
Those are far from paranoia, batteries is one of the most fragile and least lasting element of a smartphone, managing them is literally the best possible idea.

I have tons of battery management idea, those two too that I wanted to discuss with a brand, but since all brand are basically doing anti consumer things or refuse to do anything remotely different from what the other do, I just gave un on working on any Android smartphone maker...

                              What about no hole/notch/curved display.
A large pop up or no front camera (sensors on the back), 3D facial recognition with dedicated hardward chip and ultrasonic 3D fingerprint scanner, so we have a real flat and fullscreen display without interruptions, privacy and security...
Magnetic connector for USB and Jack, dual sim AND dual SD card.

Those aren't even "nice to have things", those are things that are needed to fix and implement on at least one brand !

Most of these are already available in Samsung flagships...

This battery thing is such paranoia imo. There are a lot of good ideas on here though. If the OnePlus Z is good I may benefit from this.
