AirY, 02 May 2020Big disapointd for me, i still dont knw why not any phone a... moreI think its because 1000 isn't a cheap chip at all its a bit cheaper than 865 so company's are better of with 865 at least for the marketing not pure performance

I hope it has a 855 chipset instead of 765 or dimensity it's still a very powerful chip while being much cheaper than 865 and who wants a 5G phone at this price anyway?

Aahhg ,same old MTK v/s QCOM fights in the comment section.
        Idk what people actually want
"MTK will have more power, yess i want it asap"
Oh right you need it desparately as if you would be mining on your phone and just a little bit of difference in overall performance will make you very much a no competitor in PuBG

"QCOM good support, Quality ,Best corporation ,OMG "
        Blah blah blahhhhhhh
        Same story of fanboizz everywhere.

It's just a damm phone , rather than expecting basic things to work according to a user such that He/She remains quite pleased with $400-$500 Purchase eg, like maybe a little bit pocket friendly , somewhat handy ,throw anything on that phone , it can & it SHOULD run it ( which will indeed work, considering past track of today's Top Mobile manufacturers) , But naa , people are ready to beat crap out of anyone opposing them on More Power Hungryness or same Old Quality thingy points made in the past for a mere Mid Ranger ( if priced correctly acc. to the masses)

Phone isn't even released & we are making our judgements based on our pseudo intellect.

Even if you got so called max available performance ,where would you be putting such power from a hand held device in today's world?
What would you actually do with that much power ,if your user experience isn't quite satisfactory ?

Want a power beast ?, go get some other
*$1000 Flagship * if you have enough green mint.
Otherwise , invest into a good DIY Rig. Atleast you would be gaining something new & that's a good part .

See ,Both MTK and QCOM have their own Pros & Cons
Rather than thinking , discussing & making Mobile market much more consumer friendly and open ,here we are just fighting on this so called Stupendous Topic.
Heck ,even a normal gsmarena viewer could see & bet on from observing the comments that most of you intellectuals wouldn't even be buying any new OnePlus Z/Pixel 5/ LG velvet/iPhone SE(2020) /Oppo Reno 3 or let alone be any MTK/QCOM until your Xiaomi /Realme comes to the point of its EOL.

We should hope it would be priced not quite substantially and can attract more companies to go with THE REAL Lite/Z/e/SE/Mini version of their flagship not just rebranding/rhashing some different device(s) plus making sure SoC's makers come out of their shortcomings
        ( Compulsory 5G:-Increased Prices for 2020 Phones ,
Poor policies about not releasing enough SoC kernal source codes :-making the process of development & updates more frantic for the devices
Poor Performance compared to their ideal self devices with different regions/different SoC
Continuously getting caught red handed in benchmark scores cheating fiasco /boosted results )
At the end ,we are the customers/consumers ,we have equal right for what should we get for our money paid.
And that could be achieved by more vastness & variety in the products. Stay Safe ..

Domestoboto, 02 May 2020It's not OP being greedy, IMO, but it's BBK forcing them to... moreFor me, that's the same, BBK is part of what make OnePlus identity, OnePlus was probably always how it was because BBK decided it that way, and they now may be responsible too for the price increase.

Anyway that would be a bad strategy, less expensive sell better...
The only thing that keep OnePlus seeling for the moment, is their reputation, that they'll quickly use down doing such practices...

Anonymous, 02 May 2020That is where iPhone comes in.... Bbk can't let 400 dollar ... moreI don't think any Android phone maker really want to compete against Apple.
Usually peoples already know what between Android and iOS they want, it would require that the other make a really great and amazing phone in order to attract peoples from the other of those two worlds.
I think it will still be expensive as OnePlus now are aiming the highest price range, they may try to use the OnePlus Z as a "new generation" of Flagship killer (meaning low price tag), but even there it won't stay low priced for many iterations anyway.

Plus, if this thing really did release with mediatek dimensity 1000L, it would be among the first in the market(aside from base reno3). And seeing how the oppo reno3 performs, I'm betting oneplus Z is gonna perform even better.

Why would I choose a chipset that is the same price yet downgraded in performance? It's not like snapdragon has any better battery life or ISP!

Plus, whackcar's comment that mediatek belongs on low-end phones is entirely false. You can see mediatek chipsets on a lot of midrange devices, and they perform just fine!

I am betting that whackcar guy is just a snapdragon fan, that's all.

Sad news. The Mediatek chipset was a true flagship but at a cheaper price. The 765 chipset is most definitely not.

Now about performance of D1000/L they are definately going to perform better than SD765G.coz D1000/L use A77 cores while SD 765 uses A76 cores clocked optimally.so it would only take really bad effort from MT to screw the Dimensity to perform lower than SD765.

Now about my support towards MT is because of we need more competition in smartphone market.
There are other chipset makers but they are only use in their respective brands while being inferior to SD.
This year Qualcomm was able to charge their SD865 such high is due to the lack of competition.they are one of the most amti-competition brand that always try to crush others to gain monopoly to maximize profits.

So any good competition is always welcomed.

Notice how Realmes have practically NEVER seen a massive price increase (their loaded X50 Pro 5G is not even 50% the price of OP8 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, like all their past devices).

OnePlus’s 2020 low end device the OnePlus 8 Z is going to have same chipset as Google’s flagship the Pixel 5??

People still believe in Mediatek after the benchmark cheating fiasco and their media support statement? How can one trust that dimensity 1000 and others will actually deliver what is expected? I love competition in SoC space but not at this cost. QC with SD is something that is reliable at least.

OnePlus knows what it's doing when it comes to speed. It's their biggest advantage. Btw, these are just rumours. Let's see what they'll come up with.
