JM, 26 May 2008Please, can anyone tell me how to change the text messaging... moreI followed up with both Samsung and Vodafone as I find this so frustrating. It seems that the Samsung Soul only supports text emoticons and not the "smileys" :-(

this phone looks beautiful, but I'd rather go with viewty which has a xenon flash. Why the hell would Samsung go with LED flash instead of xenon flash with 5M camera? I just don't understand that...

hmm... i believe samsung has outdone themselves with this handset... i can already tell its gonna be a big hit to the market by the way it combines the element of style and high end technology... if i dare so myself, i do believe samsung has taken some design elements from their fellow competitors with lg ... the phone has a hint of lg shine in its metal casing and also the measurements that contribute to its magnificent structure...none the less its gonna be a popular handset among customers who want a stylish lookin phone and also that edge in technology that im sure~

You can't honestly say for definite that LG were the first into development with this product... perhaps you're under the illusion that all phones are designed with the same care and that LG haven't rushed their product to the market... Or perhaps you're just ignoring the fact that Samsung pioneered this navigation method with the E950.

Jon2... if you can't post anything sensible then keep it to yourself. Samsung CAN do more than you give them credit for as they have expertise from a variety of different areas. I daresay SonyEricsson are just as capable, but Nokia are almost exclusively a manufacturer of phones... My Nokia E61 is a fabulous device; clear, loud... excellent as a phone... definitely better than any Samsung I've ever used... and yet I have upgraded to a Samsung G600. Why? because in 8 years I have never had an issue with a Samsung phone. The Samsung handsets are ALWAYS in front in terms of style (you can't honestly say that the N95 is STYLISH!?) and the fact that their sliders and clamshells in mainstream models are the best manufactured mechanisms cannot be disputed. That being said the 8xxx series Nokia handsets are also good... but hardly mainstream. Also, if I want e-mail I'll get a windows mobile device, because I don't think Symbian is up to the same standard. Anyway... I digress... STFU NOOB. Get a clue!

The handset is a clear answer to the LG KF600 that was recently announced. But like the E900 vs Chocolate I suspect the the Samsung will emerge as the better phone.

"It's just as bulky as N82/N95."

                                no it's not.

to the guy who said its as bulky how so? it even says in its review by gsmarena it stays true to the ultra lineup being only 12.9mm thick while the n82 is 17.3mm thick and n95 is 21mm thick. thats the only thing you can compare when it comes to bulk with the phones you meantioned and this samsung phone since thickness is the only physical measurement mentioned in this article. but why are you comparing the thickness of the n82 to the samsung anyways? the n82 isn't a slide and the samsung is. maybe you meant the n81 but thats even thicker at 17.9mm. i would dare say its much slimmer when comparing them.

You Nokia/SE bashers make me sick! See, even Samsung, who has a slim portfolio for mobile phones, couldn't make a slim phone with all these features. It's just as bulky as N82/N95. But N82/N95 is way more advanced, with Symbian OS, accelerometer, and DVD-like VGA video capture resolution.

wat do they mean when they say "16M QVGA display"? 16Millions color? to replace the 262K? i didnt know colors could go as high as 16M!
im proud of my 262K color display, the image is crisp enough. wats the effect of having 16M QVGA? will the picture comes alive and pop out of the screen? har har har

i own 6500 slide and this phone looks nowhere like mine
this phone has great promises to it, but ill have to wait for the reliability of the features. if it comes out with all the features as wat it says in the news, then definitely this phone is a great contender. perhaps samsung is getting ready to challenge the other high end phones of other companies.

does it really have metal finish? or just a paint that looks like a metal finish?
ive been wanting a phone that has a real metal casing for longer use. the problem with plastic cover is that the paint usually comes off usually after few months
