The main cameras are in the middle of the back, the selfie shooter pops up from the side.

NotAnOpinion, 05 May 2020That's basically it. Other than the bumb in wireless chargi... moreYour deduction skills are super poor

This phone has potentially the fastest charging ever

It even seems the cooling system is invested to the point that the had to move the cameras

But you find this just like any other phone lol

The horizontal orientation does raise doubts over everyday usage apart from gaming. But it's commendable of Lenovo to think outside the box and design something original and unique. But how do they manage the battery with the camera components coming bang in the middle? Is it a split battery? It is going to be unwieldy to take vertical shots with this phone holding the bottom half unless it weighs under 180gms. The usual 200+gms of phones these days will make it a difficult grip if you can't hold it at the centre.

Finally a gaming phone that makes sense. Charging port in the middle of the side is a good spot for comfort. Camera positions in the middle of the back and pop-up in the side too so you learn to make videos in a landscape mode and not in a portrait like everyone is doing. Well 3.5mm jack would be nice but there is dongles for it that can charge your phone and have the 3.5mm jack on them too so thats not the biggest issue.

Hmmm.... Using the ROG and Red Magic currently, camera isn't really important for gaming but that position will still be a nuisance...

Unless there maybe new AR-games that utilize it at that position - that would be cool.

It better has a headphone jack. It's not a gaming phone without it because of the battery savings not using bluetooth and there won't be any audio delays which is crucial for gaming.

For a gaming phone, that design does make sense to me.

The centered camera placement on the back is ideal for gaming, as you can hold the phone with both hands without covering the back cameras, in case you were to play a game that use the back camera.

The front pop-up camera on the side would allow you to stream your own reactions (face) properly while streaming your gameplay.

Both of those camera placements assist gamers, so it makes sense for them to be like that on a gaming phone.

The other specs of the phone are also high-end, so i don't get the negativity in the comments below.

If priced like the Nubia Red Magic 5G, it'll be successful.

A giant structural weakness on the longer side of the phone? It's gonna bend nicely.

Why not just put a headphone jack instead of that flimsy usb c port and then ship it with an L-shaped charging cable?

It obviously doesn't hurt to have but is a pretty stupid complaint to have. Gamers are the target audience for these phones, not photographers. If you're going to say you can be both, there are phones that can be both too. Gaming phones are meant to prioritize gaming. Considering how amused you were, feel free to show me such a phone with a periscope camera.

                      "Successor" you mean? -_-

So no, the pop-up camera won't be hitting your palm if you're *right* handed. It might touch your finger if you're *left* handed, but won't be much of an issue.

Same applies for the back... Your hand just won't go there. You probably use a small phones leading to these assumptions.

The problem is they've designed it for horizontal use, which detracts from the vertical (standard) uses. If you hold this camera normally the pop up camera (which looks like it could house 2 cameras by the size of it) will be coming out where most hold their phones (palm if left handed, fingers if right). Meaning shifting the phone or switching hands, which risks drops. The cameras in the middle of the back are where most peoples fingers lay when holding the phone upright. Lenovo are basically saying, if you want a gaming phone you must always be holding it horizontally.

pro, 05 May 2020omg! need more info! That's basically it. Other than the bumb in wireless charging and a very weird camera (no periscope camera, really?!) location, the Legion is just another lame/boring (the BS3 QHD+ @high Hz is interesting, though, but for us, never ever a Xiaomi) Asian gaming phone.

Can't wait to see Asus's predecessor to the ROG 2.
