The thing is even if xiaomi wanted to launch a 5g
flaship pocofone they could just put SD855 with 5g modem coz SD855 support the 5g mode. And that would cost alot less. 600+ USD is not fair for such a device without having higher refresh rate or telephoto camera and no ois. And the biggest thing about xiaomi is their worst ui and bad camera optimisation as every phone of their's produces overexposed highlight picture and the portrait mode is really bad in xiaomi phones. and so on .. in today's time having a flagship device under 500usd would have been better for a sub brand of

Anonymous, 07 May 2020Calm down, you will get yourself a heart attack, but before ... more"a bloated Chinese ROM"
- which is funny straight away because it was Pocophone who was so famous with its ads in the stock rom
"crappy cameras"
- also funny because the K30 Pro (non-zoom version) cameras are also pretty far from impressive
"an lcd with a punch hole"
- 144Hz screen I mean what do you want me to say, F2 Pro has 60. Personally I'd pick 90Hz LCD over 60Hz OLED any day of the week.
"no band 20 for Western Europe"
- Fair point but it was supposed to be an example, people are saying F2 Pro costs so much because Qualcomm ask too much for 865, this phone shows it's not true, it's expensive because Xiaomi became greedy pigs.
"big bezels"
- Are we even watching the same phone? It's got minimal bezels...
"probably plastic frame"
- Dunno but iQOO Neo 855 had aluminium frame.
Overall, the conclusion: Xiaomi became greedy, F2 Pro is garbage for the price.

If Qualc... moreCalm down, you will get yourself a heart attack, but before that I'd like to get one of those iqooneos for 350 euro... Oh wait you can't, because it is the Chinese price and what else is there... a bloated Chinese ROM, crappy cameras, an lcd with a punch hole, no band 20 for Western Europe, big bezels, probably plastic frame...seriously, there are better midrange phones out there ...

Probably the biggest disappointment in smartphone segment for past couple of years tbh.
I don't remember other phone having so much hype around it failing so spectacularly.

Anders, 07 May 2020This is DOA Poco F1 was 330 in Europe Poco F2 is 600 No ... moreSo true the phone has sd865 instead of sd855 from the k20 pro/mi 9t pro model and both phones are notchless, it would make much more sense naming the k30 pro mi10t pro in international markets. And the price makes no sense the mi9t pro was sold so good in my country and in many markets that the price dropped nearly to 300 euros but this successor will come at 600? I don't see it selling good unless the price drops to 400-500

This is DOA
Poco F1 was 330 in Europe
Poco F2 is 600
No one in Europe is going to pay 600 Euros for a Pocophone. They don't even know what that is
They should've released it as the Mi 10t Pro with a price tag of 500. The K20 Pro was the Mi 9t Pro and the name Xiaomi is a bit better known than "Pocophone"

It's a rebranded K30 Pro, that at the end is no more and no less than a mediocre mid-range phone with a flagship SoC. Low brightness, no expandable memory and no telephoto camera, no OIS at premium price.
The price in China is ok, but this one at the leaked prices is like a scam. Hopefully we have alternatives in other brands. This is not what Poco F1 was, also lost originality as it is a rebranded and overpriced phone.

i dont see it as a bad idea to just make sd855 as a chip and update some of the other hardware a bit too and sell it under 330 Euro as a F2.
F1 come out with sd845 on a time when was sd855 and 855+ was coming.
Now that it will be double the price then nobody will care about it as it's not special anymore. And people whined about the name as pocophone when F1 come out so why would you pay double now for the phone if on that price you have like 5+ different brands that selling pretty much same specs phones

I'm excited everytime I read about Xiaomi because the brand is doing really well in India. I hope this Poco F2 lives up to the expectations in pricing department. In terms of specs I belive it'll come with SD865 and 5G.

Xiaomi's spying and ad ridden software, and camera optimization are not close to being good enough to justify that price

If the rumored 650€ is true, Xiaomi should just close the Poco branch, I mean this is close to the OnePlus 8 which is already considered overpriced, I wish they used the sd855 and kept same Poco F1 pricing.

Xiaomi have undone the good name, reputation and value established by the F1. The current X2 and this upcoming F2 aren't worthy of being called a Poco. What's the point of establishing Poco as a separate brand if all it has to do is rebadge Redmis.
Xiaomi could have done an Apple here. Take the existing Poco F1 and put in the SD 855+ or 865 (with necessary modifications for the separate modern, or no 5G). The X2 and F2 are rather pointless.

F1 was an original smartphone, everything else from Poco is just a lazy, boring recycle of Xiaomi phones.
