Samsung Galaxy Note20's display to be capped at 60Hz refresh rate, only Note20+ gets 120Hz

12 May 2020
The info comes from Samsung itself, allegedly.

This seems to be a very good decision only if it costs under 849$.
I hope they won't really cross 900$ mark for the Note 20.
A lot of regular Samsung phone buyers are waiting for the note 20 because S20 series weren't providing good value.
I hope the new mobile division head will take the right decision unlike in the past which cost Samsung big time.
They have to keep in mind that they aren't Apple and certainly they aren't Chinese manufacturers.
I hope they act like Samsung. Not like Apple nor Chinese brand.

Anonymous, 13 May 2020While they are a crazy fan that is just complete bs. None ... morePlease, don't make me go back to a device with slow system/app/gaming performance and bad battery life. Remember that I'm paying top-dollar cash for a phone like that. I'm expecting a lot from it. Exynos SoC is just not worth it. Don't listen to those Samsung salespeople.

Such a cheap trick to make people buy the more expensive Note 20+. And the fools will do so, since the youtubers with their FREE review units are clamoring how “great” high refresh rate is. Hilarious.

it's a marketing strategy, they release a weaker note to make the other two much more expensive notes more appealing to costumers, they all do that nowadays, they probably won't manufacture a lot of the weaker note units

I don't know why people are mad if it's no difference between 1080p and 4k displays. You should be pleased with your full HD display.

And Samsung is a little behind some of them in doing so. And while i despise what the are doing they did invest and do spend more than most in developing their devices.
So it's a sore spot either way. And in every direction.

Fearghast, 13 May 2020TBH as a time goes on, I care less and less for Samsung. Sa... moreI agree. This year their only good phones were S10 Lite and A71 (idk about US, their prices are competetive here against xiaomi's offerings when its midrange)

TBH as a time goes on, I care less and less for Samsung. Samsung is really trying to destroy every good will they ever had and IMHO they are really doing a good job here.

Note fan, 13 May 2020I think you are out of the game... if you’re not happy with... moreYou must be a Samsung sales representative. Mi 10 Pro, OnePlus 8 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max are much better than S20 Ultra (most expensive Samsung phone). Not touching a phone with sloppy chipset and multiple hardware failures. Maybe S20 Ultra has 100x zoom but that's a straight gimmick. Huawei P40 Pro strikes the balance and yet has the best photography.

Even $500 Mi Note 10 Pro offers better system and gaming performance compared to the Galaxy Note 10.

[deleted post]Meanwhile you can get the rog 2 for 500.
So 900 to 1500 devices shouldn't have so many compromises.
And since when was the note to small for a proper resolution screen???? And how is wanting equal specs for a 900 dollar or more note... like screen resolution... equal to somehow wanting everything fit into a small 500 dollar phone?????

[deleted post]Push failing tech with weak Exynos chipset, failing camera autofocus, green tint display. Possibly camera glass breakage like S20 Ultra. Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that still loses compared to optical fingerprint sensors found in phones of half the price.

No thanks I'm not touching a premium-looking phone with "cheap" hardware.

And while they are working on a lot of technology they are also holding a lot back.

[deleted post]Or some people want their monies worth out of something whether they can afford it or not.
Some Pele actually have a brain.

[deleted post]First of all, china gets the snapdragon version. Second, countries "that suck" have so much diversity and competition that you could get great phones from 200$ to 1000$ from any company you want, unlike some countries "that don't suck" where 3 or 4 major companies are charging whatever they want on what ever garbage they throw at you.

Nobody wants the regular Note anyway. + is the only one worth getting.

It's kind of funny how people jump at each others' throats for just a rumor. Let's wait until the actual unveiling and then complain, shall we?
