The AI co-processor within SoC is way more powerful and reliable, and can be used simultaneously with a large number of sensors placed at various locations of a car. It makes no sense to place a tiny AI chip within each sensor. Besides, Sony has zero reputation in AI chip business. This design will not sell.

Sony technology is amazing. Wish they can optimise Xperia more and more in the future.
