Google Pixel 4a to undercut iPhone SE starting price with double the storage

15 May 2020
If Google can manage to sell it this cheaply, it might give iPhone SE buyers something else to consider.

Anonymous, 15 May 2020Cheapo plastic build. No way.Plastic on the other hand is much lighter and durable to fall damage.
TBH I would rather have plastic back on my phone than glass.

potato4k, 15 May 2020LOL whut? People are really tricked by Apple that you guys ... more7T doesn't have as good camera as Pixel 4A, that's for sure. The size is more compact and it also has a headphone jack (selling point). 3 years of software update? An SoC doesn't fully determine the value of a phone. Seems like a better deal than iPhone SE. Also, you're suppose to compare it with midrangers like Galaxy A71 not flagships that are beyond its price.

finally a phone under 6 inch display

No body cares about Pixel 4a

LOL whut? People are really tricked by Apple that you guys think this Pixel 4a is a good deal. In Android world, $349 for this is overpriced.

For just $50 more, you can get the OnePlus 7T, with real flagship chip (SD855+), 90Hz refresh rate screen, 8GB of RAM, and triple camera.

So why would any of you think this Pixel 4a is a great deal?

Very Nice If It Is True And If They Are Able To Launch The 64 Gb Variant In India At Less Than INR 24999(330 dollars) Then It Will Be A Beasty Success.

If the 64GB model is $299 it will sell like hit cakes, unless users want to buy an LG G8s or S10e for about $80 more which are far better phones all round.

If that's true, and judging by the specs so far, I would definitely get the P4a instead the iPhone SE.

If people are buying a iPhone, they are buying it because it's an Apple product. I don't think it will affect their sales of the SE. There are many alternatives at cheaper prices but still iPhone sells.

Although base price of both phones is same, one major difference in them is that Google Pixel 4a will get only 2 years of OS updates and additional year of security updates. On other hand, iPhone SE will get 5 years of OS updates. That's the big difference. If Apple can support their phones 5 years, why Google can't do the same with their phones?

Depending on how the Zenfone 7 looks/costs if/when it's announced, might just go with this for my next device. I'd rather a snapdragon 865 over the 730 of course, but I don't want to pay the 5g premium for a phone that might not even be compatible with my network. It'll be nice to have the new android versions straight from google as well of course.

They can expect a day one purchase from me if the 128GB version really is $349. I was disappointed by the 64GB space on my 3a.

Google Pixel sold 3 to 4 million units in 2018. How many phones did Google sell in 2019?
