Microsoft randomly decided to "design" and release the worst idea of the decade and we're only 4 1/2 months in....

Forget about the bezels and the ginormous gap between the displays.... Daylight leaks through the hinge.

The only thing I see really out of place is the battery... there's both need and room for a bigger one, no excuses (maybe they wanted to keep the thickness below 5mm - 10mm when folded? The only reason that comes to mind...).
6GB of Ram and snap 855 is more than welcome if it helps shaving 200-300 euro out of the final price... plus, not having the "865 + external modem" combo helps saving a lot of battery (and this device NEEDS saving battery with such a small one included).
No matter how you look at it, an interesting device - especially because they are trying to do something "at least" a little bit new, that could lead to something new and better tomorrow

sohail shafayat, 16 May 2020It's not 3600*1350 but 1800:2700Ah my bad. It still has to run 4.86 million pixels, pretty demanding.

I am glad Microsoft are finally releasing their own dedicated Android device. This will mean their productivity apps will have a focus to one day be enough to overtake PC office tools. No more being just a companion device.

MS are aiming to hit iPad sales with this, not smartphones.
Specs may not look like much, but the software and hardware optimization will be class-leading.
The single camera is likely a custom sensor, and although it won't deliver any kinda decent low light shots, even probably indoor ones, it should be a really good video camera and capture great daytime stills.

While I don't mind the design, it would be nice to have two bezel-less screens. I'm not a fan of punch hole, but I can forgive such idea for this kind of device. Also, I can understand their logic with the SD855 chipset as we read such similar case before with the Nokia 9 PureView. But honestly speaking, SD855 is still a relevant chipset in 2020 and not all countries have a proper 5G network connection in order to fully utilize the SD865 chipset.

P.S "The device has 6GB of RAM, which may still be okay for Google, but is mid-ranger level in the very competitive Android smartphone market, where flagships now start at 8GB and go up to 16GB". Oh come on, 6GB RAM is still plentiful today even with Android 10. If you really want a lot of RAM, get or build yourself a Windows gaming laptop or desktop.

6GB RAM is quite sufficient but I would've prefer 8GB RAM. This is a multitasking device we're talking about. 256GB storage is plentiful but 128GB + expandable storage would've made it cheaper and have better flexibility. Snapdragon 855 is still an absolute beast of a chip, it's not worth the cost getting a Snapdragon 865 although I worry the price may still be steep. I couldn't care less about the camera sensor in a tablet. Those dual AMOLED screens combined results in a 3600*1350 resolution, which is pretty high with a PPI of 402. The battery is the weakest link and most disappointing. 3460mAh will definitely give poor battery life unless only one screen is used. It must have around 5000mAh...as most tablets should be. Galaxy Fold at 4380mAh, iPad mini at 5124mAh.

This may be good for an ebook reader to answer a call while you are reading instead of go pick a phone, probably good for that.

The boss has gone virus hunting instead and failing at that too.

So many haters in the comments. Doesn't Microsoft get a chance like any other brand?

                                    What a disaster.

We might reach the all time shortest battery with the size of the screen combined with that battery.

Who are these "experts" who design these phones? They should employ an average who is interested in phones to help them out. They should just scrap this phone, its being too long. Those bezels, battery, camera and i bet the price will be the death of this thing.
