joe nodden, 20 May 2020Too expensive... when there's a cheaper phone than the 4a t... moreFirst, specs aren't everything, if a company decides to make a mid-range phone corners must be cut, while chinese companies focus on specs (which is not necessarily a bad thing), google focuses on software, to design a software optimised for a specific device costs money, so if you try to step away just a little from the spec sheet and move to the real world, you'll see that aside from gaming, the performance in most daily tasks will be closer to a flagship rather than those cheap phones that also come with 700 series, and then the camera will be far more better than those crazy XX megapixel sensors.
Second, when evaluating production costs, even 1$ matters, if you save 1$ and sell 1M unit, you saved your company 1M$.

Yes it has largest cores in smartphones but they are very efficient also.
Even their thunder (small) cores are way ahed of Cortex A55.In the face-off against a Cortex-A55 implementation such as on the Snapdragon 855, the new Thunder cores represent a 2.5-3x performance lead while at the same time using less than half the energy.GPU performance is also way ahed of Android SoCs while having better Performance/watt.
SD865 is also impressive in its own.sure its not crazy fast like Apple but it has class leading sustained performance & AI,ML performance.
Kirin 990,Dimensity 1000,820 they all are really good SoCs in their respective price brackets.
Its just Exynos 990 having inefficient Mongoose cores that causing inferior performance compared to other flagships.
Next year Exynos is going to be really interesting because Samsung is going to use Stock A78 Cores as large cores & AMD GPU.

antutu is outdated :-/ despite the higher numbers, both mediatek & exynos have horrible perfomance and heating issues.

But apple devices run games better because they are better optimized for iOS than Android.
Can't really say SD865 performing worse than Exynos 990 because the biggest strength of SD865 is its sustained performance.also remember Exynos 990 is the most inefficient flagship SoC this year.
So its literally really hard for SD865 to perform worse than Exynos 990 unless there are other factors are involved dragging SD865 performance.

Saw gaming comparison In YouTube between iPhone 11 pro vs S2 ultra Exynos vs red magic 5G 16GB one of the most powerful android phone around that comes with snapdragon 865, 16 gig of ram, cooling fan and still red magic 5G can runs asphalt 9 in 60fps neither fortinte in 60fps iPhone 11 Pro Max and s20 ultra Exynos runs both games at 60fps. Saw other comparison in YouTube that testing one plus 8 pro in gaming performance and yet one plus 8pro with snapdragon 865 has same performance as red magic 5G when it comes to asphalt 9 and fortinte including an overheating issue when you play fortinte in 3fps!. Snapdragon Soc are just a hype.

Going by trend, more likely we see a 720G or 765G if its going 5G.

Dimensitg 820 looks really promising.
Could end up being the bang for buck mid range chip of the year destroying SD 765, 768 lineup.

Anonymous, 20 May 2020its fake video It's fake until you tried out the phones yourself. Go ask the people using both phones in PUBG Mobile forums/groups and listen to what they say. Even my S10 gets very warm and stutters a little in the same setting. S20's GPU is not really an upgrade.
