Android 11 will label sub-6GHz networks "5G", mmWave will be "5G+", but "5Ge" is still LTE

People were quite unhappy when AT&T phones started showing "5G E" for LTE Advanced networks a couple of years ago.

5G is meaningless if the company still charge high to customer for speed capped 4G

I would have rather they used "5Gu" instead of 5G+. Why? As with previous 3GPP standards, there will be incremental upgrades to 5G NR. 5G+ implies, like for HSPA+ and LTE+, that those networks are already upgrades to "standard" 5G. What will they do then? "5G++"? "5.1G"? "5G²/5G+²"?

Can't we just stop with 5G all together and just finish to provide decent 4G coverage and optical fiber network first, then start thinking about the next gen when it won't cost an arm to add to our phones ?
I mean, if 5G was optional or on some rare phones made for this, okay, but so many peoples pay a premium for something they probably won't ever use with their phone as most will have a new phone when 5G will be actually available where they live...
