Ok, think of the xperia 1 ll but just make the battery 6000 mah remove the 3.5 mm jack if necessary for the added space to the battery, throw in 90 watt fast charging with of course very effective cooling, 144 hz dynamic screen refresh rate that intelligently is being set by the phone, add in ufs 3.1 for bettery efficiency, and what do you get, an ideal phone.

Screen refresh rate is important for watching videos and gaming, so 90 hz and above is better. I dont know about everyone but i dont see too many people using headphones nowadays, so a loud front firing speakers with excellent sound quality is much preferred for me.

Who said samsung has the best display??? Maybe it is one of the best but not the best (Xperia still crowns the first place, BT2020 colour gamout alone is slap on the face to other displays)

Excalibur, 29 May 2020Nope, not in me to force anyone. The whole world could get ... moreThen that's not called a premium smartphone in today's standard. That's exceptional edition like McLaren edition or Gold painted iphones. You can keep 32Gb rams, 244Hz refresh rates and every tech that is available in today's standard but those all are useless in one smartphone. They only cost extra for less usability. Games on smartphones doesn't need those high refresh rates or frames. Apps and OS today on smartphone doesn't need more than 8GB RAM. Windows laptop works smooth with 8GB RAM. 6000mah means you get fatty ugly smartphone. Ewww. Who calls it a premium??? May be one day when tech suppoorts 6000mah into tiny battery, then it makes sense to use larger capacity. Until then. Nope.

Smithravi, 29 May 2020Temperature is secondary thing. Charging the battery means ... moreYou have spread your lies in Sony forum, now continuing here about fast charging?
You got owned in every thread.

          Lies won't sell Sony.
I predict maximum 50000 units not more.

"What records?? Please feel free to mention them. Also no one is stopping you to buy those mediocore chinese mobiles"

Why don't you Google it yourself.
Get out of your Sony bubble in a while and open your eyes to the best display on smartphones this year.
          Newsflash : it's from Samsung!

Go use your battery hog 4k panel that half the time downgrades to 1080p barely reaching 600 nits.
Chinese phones are using premium displays from Samsung. Something which is way superior to Xperia garbage.

Anonymous, 29 May 2020Eww inferior tech. Other manufacturers allow using your ph... moreTemperature is secondary thing. Charging the battery means you are losing your battery cycles. Please use common sense.

Fast charging only kills your battery life in long term. Imagine waking up one day after 3 years only to use a mobile which doesn't get one day of charge time.

Android Master, 29 May 2020Samsung doesn't need to advertise their displays. They are ... more^"Samsung doesn't need to advertise their 4K display" because they never made one for themselves.
^"They are focused on better panels with higher refresh rate, lower efficiency, higher brightness levels, lower latency, better longevity not gimmicky 4K" How about 5000mah battery capacity for QHD @120Hz is efficient in your tiny brain?? How much you get while browsing and scrolling or playing games in that 120Hz?? Read the battery test and come back to me. Also Samsung has worst whites at angles. All you see is yellow. You can see yourself and compare with other flagships. Go to youtube.

              Here's the knowledge for you

"Premium smartphones don't have dim panels which struggle to reach 600 nits"- But can lose colour accuracy. Reason why Sony never pushes the maximum brightness on their panels.

"Premium panels don't drain battery"- Yes 120Hz gets power out of air not from massive battery

"Premium panels aren't locked at 60hz"- Tell this to SD865 which can't run 4K above 60Hz

"Premium panels don't have 90hz motion blur gimmick"- But can use 108MP pixel binning with DJ AF on a smartphone.

"I'd buy Oppo Find X2 Pro or OnePlus 8 pro with 120hz display which shattered 10 different records in the display department"- What records?? Please feel free to mention them. Also no one is stopping you to buy those mediocore chinese mobiles.

Smithravi, 29 May 2020You do know that Sony has been using 4K display since 2014 ... moreSamsung doesn't need to advertise their displays. They are simply best in the smartphone industry. They are focused on better panels with higher refresh rate, lower efficiency, higher brightness levels, lower latency, better longevity, etc. Not on 4k gimmicks.

                Your comment below is hilarious.
"If you don't want 4K, if you don't want battery draining features, please tell me why are you looking at premium smartphones???"

Lol, Sony brand boys have completely lost the plot.

Premium smartphones don't have dim panels which struggle to reach 600 nits.
                Premium panels don't drain battery.
Premium panels aren't locked at 60hz.
Premium panels don't have 90hz motion blur gimmick

No need for buying 400 dollar phone.
I'd buy Oppo Find X2 Pro or OnePlus 8 pro with 120hz display which shattered 10 different records in the display department. That's an example of premium display.

Other manufacturers allow using your phone and charging at same time with maximum 3 degree C increase in temperature so thereby keeping the phone cool even when charging.

As usual, Sony is nowhere near cutting edge fast charging tech.

Can you also review the Heat Suppression system?
It would be really good if it works as describe, I would be able to play while connected to my charger without getting my hands burned. It could also have higher performance than normal in long session.

silbier.hell, 29 May 2020true, but what if that's their final opinion and preference... moreNope, not in me to force anyone. The whole world could get a notched phone and hate phones without 3.5 mm port, but im sticking with what's important. The lack of 3.5 mm port being a deal breaker is laughable. With or without the 3.5 mm port as long as the front design is symmetrical with front facing speakers at least 65 watt fast charging at least 6000 mah battery ufs 3.1 dynamic screen refresh rate maxing to at least 144 hz, that is ideal.

Finally apart from me and some Japanese people, a mainstream guy talks about HS power control.

It very sad, sony is not marketing this like they are doing it for camera. And all of sudden Samsung/Chinese company will copy and release this feature in future models and get the credit. As usual same story since decade.

I use both xperia 1 and xz2 at the same time (same UI, same company) and i can assure you, that the pixel is much more packed in Xperia 1. But the take back would be the icons would be smaller

4K display is not the only reason I'm buying this. If I'm taking 12MP pictures and 4K videos, definitely 4K display (around 9-10MP) is more important to me than any high refresh rates.
Also I'm very much accustomed to Sony UI, just like how people say they are addicted to Oxygen OS or any other UI.

On top of all that, my first priority for buying a premium smartphone is the design and lightweight. This I can surely say Xperia will be the slimmest flagship of 2020 with such screen and features. Design is subjective but a phone having 4K means they are into media and entertainment, so obviously no notch/holes is what I prefer. (TBH the top bezel on X1 II are smaller than Notch size on iphone 11 Pro Max)

In the end, I can say only one thing. Xperia is offering what no other smartphone can offer. And those are what I needed. That's seal the deal for me. For others it can be S20 Ultra or LGv60 or iphone 11 Pro

Android Master, 29 May 2020Samsung is focused on producing displays with the most accu... moreYou do know that Sony has been using 4K display since 2014 right?? Samsung never invested in 4K because they can't advertise and fool people like they are first to bring 108MP or cruved edges. How useful is 4K is subjective, I can say samething for 120Hz refresh rates. Remeber premium means it should look premium not only in specs but also outside aka design.
Sony Xperia has good design (reason why they always win those design awards in flagship segment). Premium means it should be slim, light weight packed with useful features. How useful those features to average consumer may be subjective. If you don't want 4K, if you don't want battery draining features, please tell me why are you looking at premium smartphones??? You can buy 400$ smartphone with high refresh rates and FHD screens and 8GB RAMs if that's what you all needed for average consumer.

Android Master, 29 May 2020Do you know why the Huawei p40 pro upscales 9.x Megapixel i... morePossible reasons could be:
                                        1. To get rid of corner distortions
                                        2. More seamless zoom between the UWA and the main camera (The phone uses the main one at 0.8x then switches to the UWA at 0.7xx)
