Hamburger, 25 May 2020I am making a guess that since this is an apple product for... moreWhen u are 'trapped' in Apple's 'ecosystem', there's no other choice than to buy 'Apple-certified' accessories.
When u are in this position, there's no choice than accepting the 'quality' u bought as 'the best' around, as no other better alternatives available.
This situation is similar to Nokia's 'proprietary plug' which only allows mostly Nokia-branded accessories to work, which in reality, is worse than the similarly priced earphone by famous Audio brand (I actually compared Nokia's earphone with Sony's one when Express Music was still a thing back then).
The only difference is, Apple's crook strategy which don't allow universal accessories to work with their devices, albeit using the same universal media (Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack, NFC). The same rule also applied to their accessories; no Watch or Airpods would work on other 'non-Apple' devices.
This situation is exactly ideal with the saying 'the beggars can't be choosers'.
Apple explicitly positioned themselves as the 'giver' and sheeps actually happy being positioned as the 'beggars' which makes many people wonder whether they have screw loose or just straight fanatics.

First one will be lacking current bells and whistles. 2nd gen will current with all. Both will sell well.

I am making a guess that since this is an apple product for apple devices, the best BT codec it supports will be just AAC only. No Apt X or Apt X HD, and definitely no LDAC.
How much audio quality does one expect for paying a premium with apple logo?

Beats By Dre can't even surpass the $190 Audio Technica ATH-M50 series when it comes to studio level audio so this one will still not beat Studio Headphones with the headphone jack. Unless Apple completely incorporate the same or better audio technology as the THX Panda earphones/that Oppo high end headphone that Massdrop rebranded to the aforementioned headset.

That still used the iPhone 8's battery, and at that time iPhones aren't as good in battery life.

No thanks. My budget Sony headphones are enough for me. It was just 30 dollars. And no it isn't made in China but it is made in Japan.

The reason I said it's not a fancy brand is because Apple, beside being luxury, also ranks good in consistency, software design, optimization, SoCs etc. You cannot unlook the quality of Apple in such things and call them fancy.

You're not going to convince a iphone user otherwise unless you have an alternative and I have no idea what that alternative could be. Maybe that is why they are so popular. Rich people have them, middle class people have them and poor people have them.

The only concern is when they die which means buying a newer model to replace it.
Hopefully none of the buyers of this are Greta fans too as that would make them look like hypocrites.

It is funny how people have started commenting on the design n battery life before the product is even announced. So far Apple products have proven to be quite good, if not great on battery life. I am pretty sure if they release this product, battery life will not be an issue.
