And WP needs to go many many improvements in terms of APP because though it 100,000app but most of the apps and games are paid :(
Coming to android you have to lots of APP and GAMES for free Gameloft in precise :) :)
MY advice GO FOR ANDROID .. ! WP needs another 2yrs

well lumia 900 runs windows 8. so dont see why lumia 800 wont.as its the same spec handset. i think if microsoft decide not to do a free upgrade. there will be a lot of windows phone owners jumping to android.

I would like to move to WP os but there are still so many restrictions and lack of functionality. I wait WP8 to come with lots of improvements.
I have been using Symbian phones for years and there are so many functions WP and iOS users can't even dream of. As a primary phone I have Nokia 701 running the latest Belle but I use iOS daily too so I now what I'm talking about.. Just as an example Bluetooth sharing (with NFC), USB mass storage & USB On-the-go, MicroSD, FM Transmitter/receiver etc.. The list is long. This is not the stuff you can't live without, but why they are not implementing these functions to the platform(s) if it is technically possible?

I think everyone is missing the point here. WP8 is supposed to announce compatibility with Windows 8s new Metro apps (providing they are made to be WinRT compatible).
This should be a game changer purely because it will allow a company to write a windows application that works on phones as well. I'm an Android guy but if they announce what is expected then iOS and Android will be the ones playing catch-up.
Still surprised there is no Multi-Core support.

Not neccessarily, I highly doubt they'd do that again after ditching all support for 6.5. But WP5 was upgradable to 6/6.5, so no reason 7 can't be upgraded to 8

I would've thought that it is more than likely that Microsoft will update 2nd Gen Windows Phone to Windows 8 that have a 1GHz processor and over, especially since 7.5 Tango can currently be run on devices with 600Mhz processors with 256Mb RAM.
Also iOS 5 runs on iPhone 3GS (600mhz, 256ram) and android 4.0 ICS runs on pretty much anything with 256mb ram.

if only Microsoft put Zune in optional subject,
made memory card utility capable,
Xvid video support,
full functional bluetooth,
JAVA and ADOBE flash browser support etc....
than Window 8 OS phone could see some daylight in near future.
