LOL, Huawei had been stockpiling ... should last them another year.
Anyway, my Mate 20 Pro with Kirin 820 (7nm) is pretty good. I can see Huawei using this SoC for many future products. If they have been stockpiling all their current SoCs, I can't see them being uncompetitive in the smartphone market.

Most people that buy flagships play only candy crush, browse the internet and watch YouTube. If you want to have mass market appeal the SoC doesn't really mean that much.

Doesn't matter much unless their GPU's finally catch up, gaming is important for allot of people buying top-of-the-range flagships. I didn't realise I'd have issues with emulation and other 3rd party apps that require access to the GPU's drivers in order for the application to run smoothly. Mate 20 Pro will be my last Huawei, probably

Usually qualcomms gpus would be still a bit more powerful, butcan catch up with the new cortex cores until a few months later when the flagships witj the latest snapdragon launches.

Huawei should launch all phones with kirin 1020 including midrange , forgetting profit they can take market share of 50 percent. This will force all companies to work with huawei.
