IpsDisplay, 25 May 2020The fact that you ask me what country I live in proves you ... more4k content is pushed mostly by consoles, and 4k rezolution is standart in west countries, you can stream 4k content quite easely, I would say 4k is quite norm now, abcmviously rest of the world are quite behind in that. You need fast internet for 4k content, but most of the world has crappy internet comparing to west

Anonymous, 25 May 2020Says the guy who never used a proper Android TV. No other ... moreWebOS is pretty much dominant OS and best TV OS in high end and mid end class LG sells loads of TV and OLEDs at least in west countries WebOS pretty much everywhere on TV markets there and it is many times more efficient when Android TV, so not sure what you talking about, it is not going anywheere any time soon

The price tag on both the Smart TVs is amazing. Love the Google Assistant System here.

Hello Life, 25 May 2020Are you kidding? In which country do you live? In my countr... moreThe fact that you ask me what country I live in proves you don't understand anything I said

My point is that majority of the world is at standard definition.... I make this point because the guy I was talking to was implying that the "world" is moving to 8K..

And you yourself have gone so far.. like you honestly believe in your heart that many many people want 8K because of how breath taking it is lol you really believe 8k and 4k represents the masses??????

This level of delusion is older than the dinosaurs themselves

IpsDisplay, 25 May 2020Keep dreaming I heard this last time from 4g enthusiast ... moreAre you kidding? In which country do you live? In my country even the worst dramas are broadcasted at minimum 720p.. and most does at 1080p. 4K content isn't scarce at all.. Amazon prime, Netflix, youtube . Many latest flicks are even available at full 4k DOLBy vision HDR 10 bit glory. True 1080p is more prevalent but even those 0.01 % collection of 4k 10 bit is breathtaking experience so much so that the 4k TV is totally worth it. Upscaled 1080p to 4k is better than native 1080 p any day everyday.. and 4k upscaled to 8k is massively better. Try to watch reviews of Samsung 8k.. you will understand why so many prospective buyers are buying it ASAP.

HD ready and FHD panels...that's real bottom of the barrel specs...and local assembly brands in India can gives far better alternatives for the same prices than these e-waste units.

They must have purchased a ton of worthess B-grade panels with no colour/grey uniformity, double digits DeltaE, no idea on what backlighting they are using, Horrible SoC and memory specs...and then they wanted to turn a quick buck by offloading it in markets where TVs are overpriced by a factor of 3 to 5.

If anyone wants a good laugh, compare prices for 50+ inches 4k TVs on Indian e-retailers (which are cheaper than brick and mortars) to US prices for the SAME models. It will blow your mind.

Honor will join the market on June-1-2020 with X1 series "Intelligent Displays":
                    55", 4K, starting at 1900CNY ($270);
                    65", 4K, starting at 3000CNY ($420).

Although they are technically 4K, but the system behind is 8K ready in the following sense:
                    - The dedicated OS, SoCs, and supporting software are designed to accommodate the upcoming 8K TV, with hardware level support for various emerging audio/video codecs. (The related image processing algorithms will be regularly updated to keep pace with the most current development in the industry,)
                    - They can decode input 8K content efficiently and display them with proper down-scaling for this 4K screen.
                    - "We are fully ready to switch to 8K, should the 8K screens be made available to us", according to a Honor executive.

Majority of content sources are still on Standard definition... 240p to 480p max.... Not even 720p lol

                      8k is a joke
4g still isnt spread around the world properly and your making a 5 year prediction for 5g influence on 8k content????????????

IpsDisplay, 25 May 2020The world is NOT moving to 8K TVs.. 4k content is still ... moreEverything will change when a major TV market make a decision to start 8K TV broadcast, especially if that market has the technical and manufacturing capacity to make all 8K related hardware by itself: 8K TVs, 8K video recorders, 8K cameras, 8K broadcasting equipment, etc. The content will start with TV oriented programs. Please note the current developing 5G infrastructure in various countries is precisely targeting a 8K-streaming market. (Yes, it is not targeting 4K streaming.) That 5G infrastructure is more or less ready by 2025.

                        My prediction:
8K will be "a kind of" main stream by 2025, and 4K will be a next-to-the-best standard. We will see an explosion of 8K related hardware in the market in "not that distant" future..

FullHD is still kicking. Good to see 1080p models coming out. For small sizes, it's enough. Keep in mind the price will drop fast so we won't see this around 300 USD for too long. Big movies are still mastered 2k mostly so 4k would only get some fake upscale most of the time.
