If they had camera software processing from iPhone 11, it wouldn't have looked that terrible in the night.
Newer ISP with A13 chip suddenly won't transform the performance as the old sensor is the bottleneck here. And there is no night mode either.
The camera is for daytime use only.

iPhone SE has the same camera proccessing as the iPhone 11 and 11 pro, so the images should look simmilar. The only thing lacking is night mode and other sensors.

Like many HONEST smartphone reviewer say, it was MEDIOCRE at best, as CRapple don't put much effort in making it (the X is another story).
2. Performance: If U talk about BENCHMARK scores, ofc NO mobile SoC can beat Apple's A series ON PAPER ATM, but then again, it was ONLY scores; NEVER, EVER going to impact the real life, daily usage of smartphone experience, as long as the RAM available suffice,
On the other hand, NO Cortex A7x (especially A75 & A76) will give u any trouble for handling daily task. I have experienced it since Cortex A72 (Helio X20), Cortex A73 (Helio P60), and Cortex A75 (Helio G80).
3. 4-5 OS update? Sure, MIUI developers even gave updates to SEVERAL popular types for 5 years, such as Redmi Note 3 pro which can be updated to MIUI 11, even MIUI 12 soon. Heck, u can even flash it with Android 10-based Custom ROM if MIUI developers stopped updating it.
At that time, Redmi Note 3 pro was released under US$200 with 4000mAh battery, while the CHEAPEST SE 2020 with NO external storage support & 1800mAh battery is sold for US$399 and THAT PRICE IS EXCLUSIVE to US!
