And, like 60% of the people who buy android just buy cheap. If you want to prove otherwise, just ask the average people in 3rd world countries. They just buy cheap.
It's not a definite proof, but it's a logical inference, considering other's knowledge of technology. And the viewship of technology sites like this compared to the total population.
On the other hand, you seem to link market share to preference, which is not true.
Why do people who buy iPhones prefer iPhones? Because of the satisfaction rate. 98%, to be precise.

iPhone 11 is good midranger with IPS, screen, but 11 Pro, and Max is just better phones, so, why not 11 Pro for compact, or Max, for Max battery life (for iPhone).. Thats why, Android os is over 85% of market share, because of choices, and esp in midrange class. And about os, you can't compare iOS to Android, because with iOS you know whaty you get, in options in design etc.. With Android it's a differente, there is a top 5 OEMs with own skins, differente layout, options, optimisations, batter life, iOS is just iOS, bare bone os, similar to than Android version (by Google). Just like I don't call you guys dumb for buying android phones, you guys seem to assume that everybody who buys iPhones. iPhones are perfectly rational choices. And before you say android is superior, please read the title of this: "iPhone 11 MOST sold phone of 2020 Q1". Excuse me? Even though android has greater market share, android is a million phones compared to apple's 10 phones. So...
If you want to think android is superior, fine, go your way. Go think that people prefer android. Market share really doesn't determine preference. Just because android has more worldwide marketshare doesn't mean the people buying the phones are satisfied or prefer android. So don't jump to conclusions.

Android doesn't engage in gimmicky support nor does it slows down battery and cpu with every subsequent update thereby forcing users to upgrade.
