31 May 2020
Naturally, the lower end of this price range is more popular, but 2020 saw some excellent releases in the $400-$600 range.

    Well isnt it obvious???
Even the button phone for 10 bucks have same shared thing with the 1000+ euros phones and that is GSM services.
Is able to call and send message anything above this most common thing which is equal for all phones is likely to say add on which not everybody wants needs or would like to use.

So in this chart 200 bucks phone is more than enough rest is money toss into the toilet.

Facts are very simple. Most people bought their phones on contracts or monthly plans from their network provider. And the 200 euros cell phones does same tricks as the much ore expensive ones. Can last 2 years where everybody will swap their phone for new one. Does decent photos (dont get me wrong 1000-1500 euros phones does much better photos but on a 6 inch phone screen most photos looks equal unless you wish to see them on large 50 inch TV) and is fast enough to play any game or run any app.
(Again 1000 eur phone is faster and smoother maybe but 99% games are equaly playable on any phone with SD6xx and at least 3-4GB RAM rest can be adjusted in settings)

And lastly we have a families to feed not a community to impress.
Having the best of best just to spark among others sounds crazy.

Akira Kurou, 02 Jun 2020Reading the comment section here is like watching politicia... morePicture this: You like a phone. You buy it. You have it for 2 years and then you want the next model. But, sadly, other people didn't have your opinion, they didn't buy that model and the company doesn't want to invest in that model or something similar again, because is not profitable. You liked a phone, but you are not able to buy something similar anymore.
Moral of the story: Don't think that other people actions (even as random as buying a phone) can't influence indirectly your life.
A good recent example of this is the Samsung S10e. Why didn't Samsung release a S20e? Simple, because the S10e didn't sell well and was consider a bad decision by Samsung.

Thus being said, you don't need to oblige people in buying one model or another (power of free will and so on), but you can certainly guide some people to have a better choice. Remember, not all people are tech guys that know details about a phone, other than what they see on some marketing on TV or randomly heard about it in some discussion.

Arguing with facts and professional discussion (even on internet) is always a good thing. Meeting or listen the right people can make the difference between a bad or good purchase.

Anonymous, 01 Jun 2020Then buy a tablet. Don't waste your time with 6.5" mini scr... moreI bounce back and forth between small size phones and bigger size phones in the last few years. Yeah, maybe is more comfortable a 6" or smaller display, but man that 6.5" display sure is something when watching videos or playing games. Even some normal web browsing is much more fun on a bigger screen.
Also, you need to have some nice cash, let's say for an iphone 8 and ipad Mini 5 combo. With the same money you can get a nice iphone Xs Max, which is better than both.
And you don't need to take care of two devices all the time. The phone is always in our pockets, is like an extension of ourselves. The tablet..not so much, is just an extra device you need to carry around, charge it, clean it, take care of it, etc. Too much trouble for the same feeling in the end.

Reading the comment section here is like watching politicians in a parliament arguing with each other. LOL
Why can't we just let people buy the phones they want? Doesn't matter if it's iphone or android. Everyone has their personal preferences & good reasoning to buy their desired phones. At the end of the day it's their money that they are spending.
          Just chill guys!

I've seen many iPhones users on social media acknowledge that Androids, mostly Samsungs, have more features than their phones but they buy what they know and are comfortable with. If customization was this big of a deal to the average consumer than more people would buy Android phones, or jailbreak their iPhones to customize them.

Most people just surf the web, post pictures to social media and play a few games. With apps working better on iOS what features make Android better?

Well, according to some editors, gadgets become obsolete as soon as there is a new chipset in town. I think I will quote this article about a device not being obsolete 'just' after 2 years.

Anonymous, 01 Jun 2020Software updates like security updates are necessary stuff.... moreUnless a group of hackers specifically target you using the security hole or vulnerability (if it exists) which is not fixed through a security patch, you have nothing to worry about. The likelihood of such a thing happening is 0.00001%.

So lack of security patches don't affect the end user in the real world.
Ppl and several businesses used Intel chipsets for years without issues despite the Spectre & Meltdown vulnerabilities. As I said, unless a team of hackers specifically target you exploiting that security loophole, you are safe.

Ppl continue to fall for marketing gimmicks where they feel if they don't have the latest security patch, they are vulnerable or worse the phone becomes unusable after 2 years. These are the same people that can be hacked using a simple phising link and they are worried about vulnerabilities in the system that are less likely a threat.

The 5 year update system of iOS is a giant scam. You get latest features 5 years late on an average. Android is light years ahead of iOS in terms of functionality, customizability, security and ease of use. Android from 5 years back can do things iPhone can't.

The upcoming iOS 14 will finally get an app drawer and fully functional widgets, Lol these are things that existed on Android a decade back.

Plus with every subsequent update, your battery and cpu are deliberately slowed down by Apple (Yes, they are paying fines for this malpractice) whereby one is forced to upgrade after a few years.
